The recent financial crises hitting most football clubs due to the Covid effect has been overwhelming. Lots of big clubs have been unable to flex their muscle during the transfer window. One major reason remains the playing of football matches behind closed doors and not being able to go on tours as much as they would have liked.

Juventus FC is the latest big club feeling the heat as they have been financially hit due to full stadium closure. They have been searching for ways to cut costs and letting their most prized asset walking away is the best bet. They have been numerous rumors flying around about the possibility of their best player being sold to cut cost.

A lot of other teams are going through the same as most stadiums have been partially/ fully closed to reduce the spread of COVID 19. It’s no secret that clubs benefit greatly on ticket sales on match days and Covid has put an end to that at the moment. This has prompted clubs to cut down costs to remain in business and also run the club on daily basis.

Chelsea football clubs on the other hand remain unaffected by the pandemic and they have continually shown that in the transfer market. Just before the 2021/2020 season began, Chelsea signed over five players which came with heavy price tags. While another player was added even when the season games have commenced.

Chelsea's summer business resulted in making big signings that no team in the world could rival due to the pandemic impact. Top-notch players were brought into the club, players such as;

  • Timo Werner
  • Eduardo Mendy
  • Ben Chilwell
  • Thiago Silva
  • Kai Harvatez
  • Hakim Ziyech

These players have so far shown how important they are to the team and the decision to buy them with heavy price tags seems justified
