Life As A Trailblazer

If you are in cryptocurrency, you are a trailblazer.

We are still very early in this industry. While it can seem like forever since bitcoin was introduced, the reality is that we are still building crucial infrastructure. As much as we are dealing with a monetary situation, this is truly technical. Without the advancement of core technology, it is all doomed.

Fortunately, that is being built. Which means, we are going to deal with interruptions and hiccups. This will occur as an industry while also being found at the application level.

It is important not to get caught up in the bumps along the way. To expect smooth sailing is not going to happen. So why not prepare for it?

Trailblazers Are The Leaders

Consider those who settled the Western United States. Can you imagine being some of the ones who forged into the wilderness with nothing more than a wagon, mules, and a few guns. There were no highways to follow and certainly didn't have any Hilton Hotels. Instead, people were forced to engage in constant battles of survival.

My how things have changed.

How often do we complain when an application repeatedly crashes? The way people act, you would think it the end of the world. Compared to what the true trailblazers throughout history encountered, this is nothing.

In fact, if they were around today, they would laugh at us.

Nevertheless, it seems most things are relative.

Trailblazers are leaders. These are the ones who set out first. It is a time when things are not easy and challenges arise. However, this is where the strength of one can shine through.

Opportunity

Imagine being one of those who did make it out to the western part of the United States in the early 1800s. Consider the idea of staking a claim when there was nothing but woods. For example, think of the one who pick up a 10,000 acre plot in Colorado.

What would that be worth today?

Certainly, 10,000 acres, if you were buying, could cost a lot of money. For the trailblazer, it was a reward for simply surviving.

Today, in the digital realm, we have our own form of survival. Cryptocurrency is not easy. Bear markets are a bitch. Flaky application and infrastructure would aggravate Buddha. However, it is still an opportunity.

Being early is with risk. It is not easy. Life as a trailblazer is hard. It is, nevertheless, an opportunity at profit.

Many will turn their backs. They will simply give up. We repeatedly saw that. How many people did you encounter in Web3, on a platform like Hive, who are no longer around? We all know people who were positioning themselves for gain only to throw it away.

Of course, the reason they left is because the gain wasn't there. It became too hard.

This is not what a new industry needs. Trailblazers are a breed different from everyone else. They are rare which is why the calls for mass adoption are unfounded. The masses are not trailblazers, hence, will not lead the charge. They only arrive after the rift raft was cleared out, roads paved, and mints are on the pillows at the finest hotel.

Sleep in a bag in a tent? Surely you jest.

It is the life of a trailblazer. They are the ones who uncover new great and actually make an impact, even if it is not recognized generations later.

The Wild West analogy is one that always resonated with me. It's just that we are 21st century homesteaders and pioneers in a digital landscape rather than in some Nebraska grasslands.

Nice article.
