"I can never be afraid of anything", Mark boasted as he was talking to Fred. Fred smiled and said "Don't worry, I will remind you of this statement in the near future".

Mark is 25 years old. He is tall, fair, and very muscular. With such a physique, it is difficult to see what would ever make him afraid. Mark is a graduate of Computer Science. Mark and Fred have known each other for six years now. They met at the university, they were roommates, and their friendship has grown stronger as the years pass by. Fred is an accountant in a construction company. He is 24years old, 6ft tall with broad shoulders.

The first time they met, it was not so friendly. Fred got to the room that was allocated to them, and he arranged his belongings by the bed close to the window. He left the room to go and have some snacks. Mark later got to the room, and he rearranged everything in the room the way he wanted it to be.
Fred entered the room and was confused; he wondered if he was in another room. "Good evening,Why did you rearrange the room? It is rude of you to have done that" he said. Mark looked at Fred and smiled, saying, "You should have waited for me to come before arranging the room". "That's a foolish thing to say," Fred said, stomping his right foot on the ground. Fred took a deep breath and said "No problem; I will accept this, but don't try this again" Fred left the room and came back at about 10 p.m. "I am sorry for my actions earlier," Mark said. Fred looked at Mark and smiled "No problem, my friend". They introduced themselves and shook hands.

"Where are we going?" Mark asked. Fred smiled "Don't worry, we will soon get there". The road was lonely, and the trees by the sides had formed a canopy. One could not see the sky. You had to turn on your headlights to see the road. "You are looking scared," Fred laughed as he asked Mark. "Why would I be afraid?" Mark replied. "Then why are you asking me so many questions?" Fred said, smiling.

They got to their destination. The building looked abandoned. Mark asked Fred, "Does anyone live in this house?" Fred, moving into the building, said "When we get in, you will know". They walked into the house; it was beautiful and looked like a Palace. "What's this place?" Mark asked. Fred replied, "The Ghost Palace". The lights went off, and some voices started singing. "Turn on the lights!" Mark shouted, but Fred did not say a word. "Where are you, Fred?" Mark said, his voice shaking. The voices became louder. Mark was so terrified. He felt a hand touching him, and he screamed.

The lights came on, and Mark saw Fred sitting on the couch. Fred laughed and said to Mark "I thought you said you couldn't be afraid of anything". Mark looked at Fred, and he was speechless. "So you went through all this stress just to prove to me that I can be afraid of something?" Fred smiled and said Yes, my friend, and I enjoyed every moment of it". Mark smiled and said "You are crazy; let's get out of here". They hugged each other and had a good laugh.

This is a nice tale, however by strengthening the story setting, this tale would really shine! As such, it is a bit hard to differentiate between the past and present; a shame when you have offered such extensive character descriptions.

We hope this feedback helps. Thank you for sharing your story with us, and for your engagement with other members of the community!

Fred really had all the time to do all that just to prove a point. Nice story.
