Se trata de una obra maestra del género de acción y plataformas, que supo innovar y renovar la saga clásica de Megaman con nuevos elementos, personajes y una historia más profunda y oscura. En este análisis, voy a repasar los aspectos más destacados del juego.
La historia de Megaman X lo diferencia de la saga clásica. El juego se sitúa en el año 21XX, cuando los robots inteligentes llamados Reploids conviven con los humanos. Sin embargo, algunos Reploids se vuelven violentos y se rebelan contra la humanidad, formando un grupo terrorista llamado Mavericks. Para combatirlos, se crea una fuerza especial llamada Maverick Hunters, liderada por Sigma, el Reploid más avanzado. Sin embargo, Sigma también se vuelve malvado y se une a los Mavericks, iniciando una guerra contra los humanos y los Reploids leales. Megaman X es el protagonista del juego, un Reploid especial creado por el Dr. Light, el científico que creó a Megaman original.
