Have you explored the Web2-to-Hive Onboarding Adventure? It's a long game.

Two weeks ago, I decided to wipe the dust off my Twitter account. Call it X if you may. Part of the reason I chose to do that is because I've noticed that Twitter offers a lot of audience that can be drawn into Web3 and subsequently get us closer to the goal of massive adoption that we've been chasing in Web3.

Check the number of active accounts over there. Check the number of projects that are trying to gain traction on Twitter. Check the big guns from all over the world who show up to do stuff on Twitter. Some countries also have their official social media handles on Twitter.

Within the week, I was lucky to come across a Twitter space with more than 15M views. I've been getting into Twitter spaces and I know the average views that Twitter spaces get. However, something was different about that particular one. I joined the space and the names of the speaker panel looked too good to be true.

Here is a highlight of some of the names I remember;

  • Elon Musk (You know him)

  • Vivek (Current Presidential Candidate of America)

  • The Tate Brothers

  • PBD

At first, I thought this would likely be parody accounts but I listened and heard them speak. Daymmm. They were indeed present and had discussions about relevant hot topics.

Imagine if these guys were having a similar discussion/interview in a live streaming video on 3Speak while the listeners give a live reaction on INLEO's #Threadcast.

Yeah, they're doing it on Web2, and accounts over there are mutable. People can get canceled over there for saying something that pisses another person off. They have a centralized structure. Yeah! All these are the truth. However, don't you think we can leverage the huge audience that exists on Twitter and Web2 as a whole to spread the word about Hive?

You know, people won't know what's happening here until we let them in on what we are cooking. They won't know anything about the infrastructures built on Hive until we go outside Hive to talk about these things.

Am I trying to get into a Web2-to-Hive onboarding adventure?

Probably not. That's not the primary goal. However, I'm gladly pointing folks to the DApps we have on Hive and the utilities they offer. I've written tweets about Hive, joined Web3 Spaces, and shared Alphas about Hive, and I've replied to tweets where I said stuff about Hive.

The whole idea of promoting Hive on Web2 sounds interesting to me and I know it's a long game because I wouldn't just barge into any X space to shill Hive. Also, it would be a low-effort spamming to just share stuff about Hive in the comment section of any tweet I see. I know I have to do more than that and I have to do it smartly.

I'm like a newbie in there after years of inactivity on Twitter and I know I have to gradually build an audience. That's exactly what I'm doing and I started with showing up on X Spaces to get into discussions that are relevant to what I want to achieve. It's been a rather interesting experience and I'm enjoying the adventure.

I also managed to subscribe to their premium package over there.

It's some sort of necessary expense done in anticipation of something good. I know a lot of attention is beginning to turn to Web3 and Crypto and the anticipated bull run of 2024 will get more people excited about Crypto. I look forward to gaining a huge audience over there as I get fully into learning and promotion of Hive to those who will benefit from what happens here.

For the record, I know some folks who are already doing this on X and it's a step in the right direction. INLEO folks are running their weekly AMA on Twitter, Facebook, and Twitch. Crytoholics and Cryptomaniac Podcasts run weekly on X Spaces and those in charge of these are folks from Hive. Also, I've been in the same X space with Splinterlands, WOO, and INLEO.

We are not sleeping, mate.

Hive is taking marketing seriously and I'm doing my part to be part of this adventure.

Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop or Comma.

Brilliant man, it's so true, the only way to get people to explore what we have here is by getting out of the Hive space and into new spaces like that!

It's a good idea to join in on the talks that take place, especially with big personalities in that place.

True. The idea of going outside Hive to promote Hive is very good. Some communities and projects are beginning to pay attention to it.

This is already gaining traction for Hive and making more people aware of what happens here.
