Is the world ready for NFTs?

I bet all of you have heard about NFTs by now. (If not, do tell me at the comments sections!)

NFTs seems to be the new hype in the block space, even though it is not new. Who doesn't remember the cryptokitties?

NFT stands for Non Fungible Tokens; aka a unique digital asset that is tokenized and can be offered online to be purchased. There are many platforms, mainly on ethereum but also on wax and of course on hive - our very own @nftshowroom!

I follow many artists on twitter and as a matter of fact I created my first NFT out of a photograph a while ago using lensy.io (ref link)

I believe that we will be hearing a lot about NFTs as the weeks/months pass by and today we saw a new record - a piece of digital art reached 1 million USD in just a few minutes after published.

And guess where it went for sale?

To the auction house of CHRISTIE'S!

Yes, the famous auction house is interested in NFTs.

So are we ready to see the NFTs go mainstream?
What comes next?
How is this going to be evolved?

I believe that we will be hearing lots in the new about it and it will certainly attract much interest, even though it may not be the 'good type of interest'

New artists that want to learn more, will find the information difficult to be digested if they have no idea about the blockchain and how it works...

I wish to explore this world more, but I hope I can find the time to do it - still, I think that I will create a couple of guides for the things I have found out and for the queries I have been able to answer.

Wow this is already a demonstration of how important NFTs are becoming.

I don't know. You read more and more about NFTs that rise by I don't know how many thousand percent and reach a value that is simply crazy in my opinion. I don't see where the added value lies here, except to make this profit. It's like all those old Pokemon cards, except that these NFT's don't bring any game enrichment (well, you can certainly doubt that even with such Pokemon cards) and this "being desirable" is related to the basic concept of these whole projects. Although I'm still very young, I'm probably already too old to really understand this.
