Beyond the Loss: Discovering Joy in Life's Little Delights

avatar

I have lost more than 150$ in these last few weeks. And it's never good to lose money :(

This is a short story about how I almost got it back, in a different way! Why I am writing about it? To let you know that you should never give up, there is always light behind the clouds..!

In case you have not seen the news, a couple of weeks ago, there were many authors that were banned when a new algorithm was implemented in Medium Platform.

A great number of authors/platform users (including myself) received an automated message that their account was banned, without more information about the reasons behind this.

In my case, this has resulted to a loss of $138 earned amount for my previous month's earnings, + $20 a few days in March + $15 the subscription that I had paid in Medium. The above amounts are for ever lost (if they do not re-instate my account) - I have requested a manual/human review and I am waiting.

Of course I was feeling lost, sad, hurt. It took me a while until I could deal with it.

But today, I was notified that I won a contest held by Nexo - and I have earned $100! I consider this to be a great luck, because I never win in contests... the most recent contest I ever won was the Bad Luck Prize by @onealfa (and that was laaaaaast year :))

I dont participate often in Twitter contests. When I do, I know that I will never win, but I do it for fun - or to support a project.

In this case, it was a fun contest by Nexo, where we should take a screenshot of their video and post it. 3 winners would win 100$ in the coin of their screenshot.

Guess what I won! $UNI !!

The funny thing is that I never had this crypto in my portfolio.

In total, 667 persons participated to the contest.

This is the message I received

The Twitter/X status: https://twitter.com/Nexo/status/1771182736247509130

My winning reply

So, I am really thankful to life for reminding me that there is hope and to Nexo of course!

p.s. If you are thinking of creating a NEXO account, you can look for a referral (or use mine here) so that you both earn an extra 25$ in BTC, after you deposit 100$ in the platform. I have been using it for years, keep some of my crypto there and also use the credit card for some of my online buys/bills.

In case you are interested, here are the links that are mentioned in my post

Thank you for dropping by, as always and remember, to never give up!
Keep your head up and be proud of yourself!

p.s. here is a fun quote I would like to share

I'm still annoyed that Medium blocked your account. I check it every day. I have two more theories about why you were blocked.

  1. "Friend of Medium" encouraged you to write every day - perhaps the quantity alerted the algorithm.
  2. Your honesty in being open about the source of your stories - maybe the algorithm doesn't like Web3.

Thank you Mike.
I was engaging every evening at approximately the same time, because that was my 'free time', maybe it was flagged. The fact that many of my posts were first posted here, could also be a problem for them. But I also had original posts on both platforms.
Anyway, I have appealed and I hope that a human bothers to look at my case.
Thanks for always supporting me!

Losing money is really bad and can be sad. I’ve lost money into Forex too but I’m never going to give up. Also, I’m glad you won the $100 Nexo
I’m sure it means a lot to you

People on medium are saying we might get our February earnings in April even if we remain banned.

Really? Did it come from official sources? I really hope we can get them to make a manual review to our accounts 😢😢
