Choosing a business: Things to consider

Hello Hivers

Source

Almost everyone I know seems to have started a business. Well I guess the situation of the country has taught them to look at the brighter side of businesses. It is either they are spellings hairs, bags or shoes. Only few delve into something else. That makes me want to ask if fashion sells faster these days? Well I think that will Be a discussion for another day.

If you are just considering to start a business, choosing a business may look like a hell of work for you. Especially if you are an indecisive person. Ye I was once in this position where I didn't know exactly the kind of business I wanted to do but I knew I wanted to start a business.

Before you start a business, there are some things you need to look at and these things if carefully considered, will you help you in your choosing business path. These things are what we will look at in this article:

Does this business I want to start have a demand?

I said earlier that most of my friends (females) are into fashion line of business. Imagine me deciding to also go into the same line because my friends are into it? That's not what I should look at if I want to go into a business. I need to look at my potential customers and ask myself if this business I want to start is on demand.

Will it continuously bloom? I don't think there is anyone who starts a business without the intention if selling out. That's why it is very important to look at business that are on demand. That way, you are sure of selling every single day.

There is a woman in my street that sells food. She comes as early as 5:30am and before 7:30am, she is done selling and heading home. Food business is one business is always on demand. This is so because everyone must eat no matter the situation.

So consider the demand of that business before venturing as it is very essential.

Where is the location of my business?

Believe it or not, a business location has a very big impact on that business. You may be selling something nice but the location is quite a distance or the location is not situated properly where your target audience may see you.

Mist business suffer this kind of thing. Imagine going to a rural area to start an expensive boutique. That's just you spending too much money on failing. People in the rural areas are more bothered with what they will eat, their farms and families.

Buying designer clothes is the least of their problems and may not even patronize you for a whole year. But if it was located in the urban setting. You sure know there are people that will gladly patronize you. So location matters a lot and you should think through before setting up your business in a particular location.

What is your driving force to starting your business?

This question me seem off but stay with me because I am going somewhere. Now everything one does in life, is influenced by their choice. It may either be a good or a bad choice. Every individual has a different force that pushes them to work towards things.

Whatever the force is, what is important is that they do it and stay consistent. Doing it is one thing and staying consistent is another thing. The driving force is what keeps you consistent and for me, that is passion.

If you are passionate about what you do, you do it diligently and consistently. So choose a business that you are passionate about. This will help you to stay consistent even in the bad market days. Because certainly, your business will not bloom all the time. So it is the passion that keeps you going.
