Hive & The Tribes In Retrospect; The Psychological & Social Diversity On The Chain (What Should Be The Endgame?)

There will always be endless debates on what is right or wrong when it comes to blockchain: a place like hive. This is because almost everyone is looking at things from their context, their point of views or their angles or even their experience. Some would argue that governance on a decentralized chain like hive is equal to censorship or abuse of power, meanwhile this isn't factual.

The existence of decentralization without tools for check and balance would bring absolute imbalance, chaos and all, and we all know that when there's absolute freedom even the purest or the most decent of people acts on certain impulse that comes with total freedom without checks. I do agree that sometimes even governance privileges can be abused, being in a position makes one the subject of scrutiny.

Truth is, with compact scrutiny of action you'll find out that almost everyone who is in a position of governance is hardly perfect and this doesn't mean someone else would completely act perfect when installed in such a position without compromise even at the slightest opportunity.

Then there will always be the debate about rewards, who gets what and who doesn't. Who is at the top of the echelon and who is not. I always refrain from this debate, I believe that equality of opportunity is what will never be guaranteed everyone. The world will never be communal again. Modern governments are going "capitalism" pro max while socialism or communalism is dying.

Inasmuch as we cannot compare blockchain to this, we can say that running a blockchain will have a humanistic perk. Since we would somehow try to mirror human sociopolitical economic system into it. I do not look at the grand scheme, this simply Means that I don't see rewards as something that that is earned, I believe it is given at the discretion of whoever decides to give it. I often feel that whoever gets what they get, must have been getting it because someone feels they're deserved.

While some will disagree with rewards, some others will agree with it. So what makes both party "more right" or "less wrong"? And vice versa. A lot of people would term themselves dolphins or whale or dead fish in a stereotyped context. Meanwhile, when I'm counting my milestones, I see it as an opportunity to have a voice and build a retirement plan. But a lot of people divide the chain in this format; rich and poor, and this affects them totally when it comes to imbibing the mentality of growth.

So many people victimized Haejin and disagreed with his rewards (well not like I didn't back then) but this same people now hails him because they're recipient of his vote. While I felt the actions would harm the longevity of the chain, other people wouldn't mind it provided they get part of the reward and that's what happens nowadays; some don't play "the reward" argument game with people who they might dislike their actions simply because they're recipients of a largely huge vote and this buys their silence and this is the motivation of reward.

So I think a lot of the argument is flawed on the chain. Hell! Some of mine, might be, too. We have to accept this and stop playing the game of who is right or wrong. Truth is, nothing is sacrosanct. The grand scheme is all about growing the chain because this is where it becomes better for all. The issue of less reward for some and more reward for others shouldn't be a demotivating because with individual actions one can try to close down this disparity, even we cannot completely do so. Truth is, emotions are always running high when it comes to doing things that are only meant to be a necessary evil, and that's another debate.

The tribes are coming in rather strongly and even if I didn't begin to build early i feel that it can be easy to be wrong about an investment opportunity like Leo or POB and one can easily be right as well and when you're right, I believe no one should deem it as being over rewarded, some people have grinded on Leo and when they're top paid authors i only see it as a success story that should eventually motivate me.

But then, some would only see an author who is over rewarded in their moral compass and forget that it could have easily turned out wrong for them. So it's time to forget about the reward, each and everyone's future lies in their luck, their actions and their choices and feeling undone by a whale's reward is the beginning of stagnancy.

As for mutes and downvotes I don't know.... it feels like muting in a tribe level feels even more hurting than a downvote and this can be proven by the face that the mute choice nearly brought POB to its knees. Talking about big elephants in the room. Nevertheless, I believe that tribe governance can be a little dicey, given the "centralised-esque" nature.

There's really nothing patented about tribes, howbeit they're added advantages to even building hive and user's retention. A lot of people could have given up on hive, but then they're earning well on the tribe level and this is keeping them motivated. For me, the tribes can help hive in user's retention aspect, and we can see how POB has done this reasonably well. So the tribes are important when it comes to hive and there's no need to antagonize the tribes but simplistically promote it, even at Twitter level because they're small, compact and makes it easier for even a newbie to thrive.

Yes there are concerns about these issues. But ultimately if you have convictions, act consistently and one is are morale based; than not matter the bad or good something greater emerges and that is self worth.
Im loving your blog bro.

This is true. A lot of people forget that to get to a certain level, everyone started from somewhere. While some people had a great start with their first posts, some didn't and are having a hard time building their reputation.

I don't see any rich or poor here. I believe I can learn from everyone unless I find the information faulty. But I'm open-minded to know that I don't know anyone personally so their wallets might be empty here but they could be wealthy bastards somewhere else. And even if they aren't, it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things.

Lovely point of view, truth is, this is what I observed, when I newly came here, I was taking time to learn from almost anyone I saw and the truth was that I did learn and I'm still learning. The stereotype of rich and poor is something I don't even allow to hinder me, truth is, everyone was at a particular position at one point in time, the only difference is that some people grew while others didn't. Apart from this, growth is an individual choice

Competition is never bad but irrespective of the number of tribes/communities we have in this place, everyone of us need to realise that the end product is to invariably increase the sustainability of Hive itself.

Some people feel more connected to some communities within the blockchain and they know a lot about the communities but that connection has also made them to start getting involved with life itself consciously or unconsciously.

We may be in separate battles but we should never forget that we are all fighting as one in this war

I saw the initial fallout then I tried my best to avoid every single post about it. It sure seems like it escalated quite fast and there was a vote that I got tagged for. I didn't exactly agree with it because you could get flagged for obvious phishing scams. I generally don't like using the downvote button and I prefer to use my choice to not vote unless its an obvious phishing scam.

I avoided the fallout too, it was deeply intense and it felt like it was never going to end, but then it's finally ended and I guess we should learn from it. It's the same with me, I don't use to downvote except for the reasons you stated. The chain is a big place and we keep learning.

That's so Lovely said buddy. The aspect of hive where you said people might probably get tired of it is just the fact that people are now in haste of getting money and when they come into the system and they can't get what they want then they backout. For the aspect of the tribe you said, I don't think I have heard about that before.

It's more or less like saying there's no right or wrong but doing what's right for the system.
