I Made A Commitment....I've Almost Seen In Through!

Way back at the beginning of the year, a few of us got together and started reading the bible together.

We used the popular Bible App called YouVersion and were planning to read through the entire bible in a year!

Lots of people say they are going to start these reading plans and / or commit to reading the bible front to back but when it comes down to it, life happens. I know for my case, this year has been extremely hard for my family and myself. And I've fallen behind countless times throughout the year.

However, this is something I wanted to do. It's kind of been on my bucket list for years, and as 2023 winds down, I'm actually very close to completing the plan....

I'm on day 316 or 359. The plan ends on December 25th this year and we're well into the New Testament now. The plan had us start up Galatians a few days ago, so we're coming to the end of the books quickly :)

So full disclaimer....

I've REALLY sucked not only reading this plan every day, but also keeping this blog up to date. Life happens, but that's just an excuse. I seem to find time for my main account, but for no other reason other than 'laziness' I've neglected this!

So I decided it was time to update the blog with a post and on how the plan has been going...

Like I mentioned, I'm not reading the plan every day, but what I end up doing is every Sabbath afternoon, I grab a hot drink, and 2 of my bibles and catch up with all the readings from the past 7 days.

What are the bibles I'm using?

  1. The KJV Thinline Premier Collection - I did a review of this earlier in the year and I've really enjoyed going through scripture with this bible. I don't make any notes in this one, it's literally just my reader for the plan.

  2. The NKJV Maxwell Leadership Bible - This is one of my favorite bibles that I own, and it's a companion for the readings that I'm doing for the plan. While the Thinline KJV is straight scripture, no references or study notes, the Maxwell is filled with some fantastic study helps. All of it is from a leadership angle, so it's a unique way to look at scripture.

This is how I've been going through each day of the plan, and writing all my notes in my journal along the way!

Only about a month and a half from being done and then I can finally say I've read the bible from front to cover. It truly has been a blessing! Pray for me that I can continue lol
