A World Without God...

So I had an interesting experience on traditional social media earlier this week...

I like to share scripture, prayers and Jesus on my Facebook wall. I'm not 'in front' of people's faces all the time with it, but when the feeling hits me, I like to share some spiritual thoughts.

Generally, I get decent responses. Those that aren't religious or Christian on my friends list, generally seem to ignore it. I'm guessing they just move on. They respect my wall, I respect their choices.

But every now and again....lol

You know what happens...

One of my Atheist friends takes a dig at my faith. And that happens, I get it. But something happened this pst week that made me scratch my head.

I'm paraphrasing this but the they made a comment that: "God should be removed from society, and look at all the hurt that has been done by religion..."

Got it. Here's a few things Christians can't deny....A certain church in history has done some pretty atrocious things. And I'm not here to bash that church, I have my feelings about it but it is history. We cannot deny it. My issue is when all of Christianity is lumped into that one church. But again, I get it.

But what really got me thinking was the statement they made about....God should be removed from society.

A few things, I do NOT believe in church and state. I think they should be 100% separate.

Jesus said: "Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's." (Mark 12:17)

So yeah, church and state being separated is fine by me!!

But can we honestly look at the past decade or so, and say with a straight face that the world is getting better?

God has been removed from so much in society, have things really gotten better?

That seems to be the argument from atheists, that the less God is in the world, the better things will be....But is that really the case?

I don't have stats, facts or figures to back up my thinking on this. However I do have my gut feeling. And over the past 5 years, never mind 10 years, I can see sharp divisions between people. We don't talk anymore, we just argue.

Reminds me of one of my favorite bible verses from Ephesians 6:12:

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."

It's almost like...This hatred, anger and division that is out in the world is...Ohh I dunno, planned?

Anywho....Just some random thoughts on a Wednesday evening. Just tossing it out there and seeing what you may think...

Is society truly better without God in our daily lives?

I know personally, I couldn't imagine a day without Him!

Nothing else to be said that you didn't already say. It blows my mind how anyone can complain that there is too much God in the world. We have needed Him more!

It's quite the secular society we live in these days. 'Less God' really hasn't made things better.
