A Quick End Of Year Study On Daniel & Revelation

So we're gearing up for the new year in the Kingdom bible study group.

Over the past year, we used the 'Eat This Book' reading plan and a few of us, are actually seeing it though lol

I'm pretty happy with my progress because this is something I committed too and one of my goals for 2023, to read through the entire bible....Front to back!

So in the new year, we're hoping to do another 'whole bible' plan, and seem to be leaning towards the 'Chronological reading plan' by the Blue Letter Bible via YouVersion.

So while I've been diving into scripture every day on my current reading plan, I decided for the next few weeks to get into an exhaustive study on Daniel and Revelation...

I did mention around this time last year, I was going to do this study but you know...Life!

So no excuses, I have a good 2 and a half weeks to go through both books. And even if I go into the new year, I want to do this along with my yearly reading plan as well. It's a commitment, and I always believe if I put it out there in public, it'll hold me accountable lol

At least that's the hope. :)

And I have some tools specifically for the task....

Prayer - Obviously, I should be starting every single day with prayer but especially when I'm diving into the Word. This is a must and the most important tool we have when beginning any study of scripture.

Bible Study Journal - This is a slick little study journal created by Andrews University. It contains every chapter of both books, study notes on key passages and plenty of space to write your own thoughts, prayers and ideas about what you read. I started using this last year and got to....Daniel 3 lol.

The Remnant Study Bible - This has been my workhorse when it comes to study bibles. Tons of great commentary on the passages and a bible I have used for years. My wife and I love this study bible so much, she has her own copy as well.

The Mission Study Bible - While the Remnant study bible is my go to, I do on another study bible called the Mission. This is created by Oklahoma Publishing. And the reason I'm adding a second study bible to the mix is because of the commentary and features. The Mission blows anything else I've ever read out of the water, SO much insight and features makes this a great companion for me and my studies.

So I fired up Daniel 1 this afternoon and had some great insight into the scripture....

My biggest takeaway was in verses 19 and 20, where we see how God is setting up Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego for bigger things. God uses them for his will, purpose and good pleasure (Philippians 2:13). They are exactly where they are supposed to be, at that point in their lives.

Reminds me, God always has a plan for us....Even if we stumble and experience set backs. His will, above all else!

Note: I'm praying that if God lays it on your heart, that you join us in 2024 to read through the bible....
