Why You Need To Show Up...Everyday!
This topic has been addressed...Quite a bit!
If you have been listening to the CryptoManiacs podcast over the past month, you would have heard @taskmaster4450 and myself SCREAM about how important it is to show up every day...And engage with people!
'Ya ya...Same broken record!'
I can almost see the eyes rolling as you read this...
But today might be a little different.
Today's post might be the kick in the butt you need to keep on...Keeping on here on the blockchain!
I have that poster stuck up in my office.
It stares at me every day. And it's a reminder of what I can do, today, to help my future self and the ones around me.
Now most people, will say...
I'll write a post when I'm more comfortable. I'll make a comment when I feel inspired. I'll learn about this new technology later this week....
And what happens?
Most likely they put it off....
A habit has been formed in their day to day life where the most impactful task they should be doing...Is put off.
So let's talk briefly about how I 'kicked my own' butt when I first joined this blockchain and decided to dedicate the next 5 years at least to learning everything I could about it...
It was obvious from day one...The whales aren't coming to save you! That being said, a few whales on HIVE and the majority of them on @LEOfinance are awesome people that genuinely want to see everyone win!
But they still don't owe you a thing. When you get a generous vote, be thankful and grateful...But never stop creating and building on your journey here!
When I joined, I knew I had to put up, or shut up. Meaning, I had to work daily to deliver value and ADD to the blockchain, rather than just try to catch an upvote or two.
So I built!
@blainjones and I decided to bring our entire community (ClickTrackProfit) over to the blockchain and work with them DAILY to integrate the blockchain into their online businesses.
This has been our mission for years now, and guess what...It's not stopping anytime soon because we know the SECOND we let up...That nasty habit I mentioned earlier will form.
Somethings right now, that you have the power to control when it comes to building on the blockchain is commenting!
Here's what happens when you do (and build this into your daily habits)...
- People get to know you
- They begin to see you as someone adding value to the blockchain
- You can earn some rewards for it (WIN!!!)
- Your reputation and followers start to grow
- You HELP the entire blockchain have more activity which in turn...Helps everyone out!
Here's what you don't need....Millions of Leo or Hive power to do it!
Just get started....
I'm so passionate about this, and I want to see everyone that can, jump in and be active. If you don't have enough Hive Power for the resource credits needed, let me know...I will GLADLY delegate Hive Power to you so you can comment and engage with these amazing people.
But remember that poster I shared above....
Your future is created by what you do TODAY...Not tomorrow!
Today, make it a habit to comment more...Engage more...And add value to everyone's journey here on the blockchain!

Showing up everyday has been rough for me the last 2 months, but I have made sure to do anything, everything or something daily to grow on the blockchain. I know I'm a long ways away, but you told me from day one; when I decided to go all in on the blockchain - create content, engage and show up; things will happen. @jongolson, you lead by example; so it's difficult not to get grimy and put in the blood, sweat and tears for what I want bad enough. #showup
Its amazing because of what you have been through, yet show up more than people that have no excuses. Keep crushing it man!!

@tfranzini thank you 🙏🏼 very much appreciated - folks like you and The CTP Swarm make it easy to remain motivated despite a challenge here and there.
Too many people chasing that money AFTER the rally has happened then looking at everyone else that "made it" and wondering why they can't be that person. Showing up every day even when the price dumps to $0.01 and still putting in the same if not more work puts you in a much much better position when that price rallies to $1! Take action, put in the time and work, provide value, make connections, friendships, business relations and continue to grow.
Short cut? Buy tokens when they are low in projects you believe in.

Not a lot of people have that long-term vision so they just give up when they don't get those huge rewards after a couple days.
Those who actually take the time and do the work, as you said, will be in a great position some time from now, when things really take off.

That's what I keep telling people. Almost everyone you see here that's "made it" took a chance on a new platform and put some skin in the game.
I remember buying LEOM and LEOMM miners when the LEO token price was around $0.03 and the non-crypto people here where I live thought I was crazy. But it was obvious that crypto+finance would fill a much-needed niche and I'm so glad those early pioneers are now able to enjoy the success they so richly deserve.
So get out there and keep putting one foot in front of the other, so you'll answer the door when Fortune knocks! :)

That's very true. Things get much easier when we just start.
It's a lot harder to get an object to start moving than it is to keep it moving so we just need that first bump to get things going and then once we start showing up every day we'll see real change.

I'm glad we're starting to see a lot more engagement now with the tribes helping out a lot. I guess its also people being able to find more content that they're able to relate to.
That's true. I think having more well-developed tribes will really do good things for the engagement.
We have an initiative to promote engagement on LeoFinance called Leo Market Talk (@leomarkettalk) and I know about other communities that are starting a similar thing. I hope they help to increase our overall engagement and activity levels across Hive.

Since I started engaging more with the community my life here on Hive changed a lot. I'm earning more tokens, which is great, but mainly, I'm getting to know more and more people and also getting other people to know me, which is just as important.
Just today some project that I didn't know about tagged me on a post because of my high level of engagement on LeoFinance this week.
And also, I'd like to add another thing to your list:
I joined Hive earlier this year and I didn't know the first thing about crypto, blockchain or anything like that but since I started to engage with people every day I've become much more knowledgeable, to the point that I'm now also able to help others, even though I'm far from being an expert like some people in this community.
And, finally, great show man! I only found out about the podcast last week but I'm already a fan.

I have been on this path for the past 2-3 months and it has helped my journey here immensely. I always encourage the people I onboard to comment more than the post. Everyone can or want to post but not everyone wants to engage and that is where the opportunity lies

Exactly! When students marvel at my math skills, I tell them I'm not special--just been doing math for half a century. If they do math for 50 years, they will also get better at math. Same with writing blog posts, knitting, golf, etc.

I always missed classes and no wonder I struggle with complex calculations now.

Yes. I am still learning, bit by bit. Don't need in-depth knowledge anyway.
I try to increase the range of my knowledge and skill set. Basic Math is definitely on my list. Especially to understand the compounding of my investments. lol.

There are definite benefits to showing up everyday but some days that can be easy while on other days it can be challenging due to time constraints, stressful situations that need your undivided attention, etc. I know we are in a bit of slump when it comes to engagement but our time will come :)

This makes me think of something I've read some time ago about prioritizing and getting things done...
Schedule and do the most intimidating stuff first. Anything that makes you uncomfortable but you know it needs to get done...do it first and don't stop or move on to the "nicer" things until you've done it.
Thanks for the kick in the butt...It may not always be nice, but it surely is needed.
