RE: Why is InLeo evolving into another version of twitter/x ?

You are viewing a single comment's thread:

the value that @leofinance is bringing goes way beyond charts. i think this is the main issue with everything on Hive...we look at the attached value of a token to it. and while we all wanna see this stuff go to the moon, right now i feel LEO is building up for that moonshot.

but looking at trading volume especially on ALL layer 2 tokens will just end up in disappointment. one of the bigger values LEO brings is micro-content to a blockchain that has forever been attached to long form.

the other value prop would be, the ownership of the tokens which translates into revenue sharing through leo ads. this is unheard of in web2. and while sure, leo looks like twitter, the actual ownership for content creators on leo is what should attract people.

is it perfect?

nope. nothing in this space is. we''re still in building phase and there's so much more to go. but if we pull back and look at the big picture of what is being built, i wouldn't want to spend a minute of my time elsewhere in #web3 crypto.

Hello Jon @jongolson

After reading and thinking a bit about your feedback, I decided to create a short blog that may help with understanding my analysis on the value of a #leo token. Well, any tokens for that matter.

https://peakd.com/pept/@pept-learn/the-three-al-model-of-token-valuation

the value that @leofinance is bringing goes way beyond charts.

Indeed.

i think this is the main issue with everything on Hive...we look at the attached value of a token to it. and while we all wanna see this stuff go to the moon, right now i feel LEO is building up for that moonshot.

Well, I don't know about a main issue with Hive. I would say there are many concerns but for now, let's focus on my question about InLeo direction and Leo token value

When it comes to placing a value on #InLeo and #Leo token. It is fair to say you show biasing and you are not alone. Just like I am biased to a PEPT token. To be clear, I am not against any tokens. I am loyal to my wife but not a token. !lol It is important that we have measures in-place to help us manage biasing. I am not against a token going to the moon as you say. If it does, great and I hope I am part of it. I don't place a lot of value on the expression cause I know tokens, just like stocks, all have a cycle. Sometimes the cycle is skewed because of the a tidal wave behaviour and sometimes the cycle is mostly random behavior.

looking at trading volume especially on ALL layer 2 tokens will just end up in disappointment.

I disagree. Have a look at #DRIP

It doesn't look disappointing to me. Also, when I look at charts of a declining token it is not disappointing if my charting helps me determine the re-entry point.

the bigger values LEO brings is micro-content to a blockchain that has forever been attached to long form.

This is a belief that needs to be backed by some data. More charts needed.

revenue sharing through leo ads

Again, this feels good but where is the market analysis charts? And how do you actually share revenue on Hive. I have not seen the calculation. How do we evaluate the compensation plan for our engagement?

this is unheard of in web2

Really? I started ePayTraffic based on a revenue sharing model. With Hive blockchain protocol, business can integrate their existing compensation model with Hive reward model.

Thanks again for the valuable feedback.

You aren't a social media platform. ePayTraffic is not in the same ballpark as LEO. Different models. I'm talking about traditional social media (aka web2)

Go look at when LEO started, if you wanna see the pretty uptick like DRIP has. LEO has been around since day one on layer 2 here, and the fact it's stood the test of time and continues to innovate....That's the value.

Charts aren't going to give you the full picture on Hive's layer 2. We dont have enough daily volume, heck even Splinterlands's DEC is tiny compared to the overall crypto market.

Wanna look at markets, good look at the price analysis for ethereum, or bitcoin. You simply cannot judge a project here on chain, on what hive engine tells you.

As for the revenue sharing, it's not Hive that's being shared...it's leo. Maybe you should do some more research into exactly what LEO is proposing with their leo ads. Lots to learn, if you dive in.

I was responding to compensation models when I mention ePayTraffic. ie revenue sharing. Wasn't suggesting ePayTraffic was a social media platform.

and the fact it's stood the test of time and continues to innovate....That's the value.

The amount and source of funding cannot be overlooked. As per going forward, we will see what happens.

Charts aren't going to give you the full picture

Obviously. However, they should not be overlooked either. It would be good to see some market analysis charts for the anticipated revenue sharing income streams.

You simply cannot judge a project here on chain, on what hive engine tells you.

Remains to be seen from my perspective and I do appreciate and respect what you are saying. My focus is layer 2 tokens. That is what I am playing with here on Hive. I want to benefit from a layer 2 token regardless of what the big boy coins are doing outside of Hive blockchain. Every token has it's purpose. I do trading charts for the ones that can offer financial benefit.

I am well aware I have a lot more to learn. Especially so in DHF funding that some projects receive.

For sure I will be learning some more about the revenue sharing proposed as well as the funding provided for the project. Is DHF part of the funding for this revenue sharing that is tied to leo tokens?

Thanks for the back and forth. You gave me a great idea for a blog post this week about this topic. Appreciated!
