Planning #MyHiveGoals For 2024...Goal #1 HBD
January 1st is coming up quick!
And when the new year strikes, I start n my 12 month journey to reach some goals I have planned for myself. And usually I do a big 'end of year' post but thought this year, I'd switch things up...
Over the next week, before the new year, I'll go over each of my goals that I have ben planning for 2024. Explaining my reasoning behind them, the targets I want to reach and my game plan on how to achieve it.
And today, I wanted to go over my $HBD goals that I will be setting up for myself in 2024.
So full disclaimer, I was already planning to add HBD to my goals for 2024, but a little post by @elianaicgomes kind of spiced this up just a little bit. And today I wanted to discuss her post and how it'll be added to #MyHiveGoals for the new year.

So, I want to reach 10,000 $HBD by December 31st, 2024.
That's a big chunk! Especially because right now I'm only sitting at about 275 HBD.....If we do the math that about 187 HBD I would need to add each and every week starting next week.
That's a lofty goal!
And what's truly remarkable about this blockchain is that you can actually 'earn to invest' here. By being active on chain, you can potentially generate HBD as post pay out rewards. Toss them into your savings account on Hive and presto...You can earn a slick little 20% APR on it.
But what Eliana suggested, got me thinking on how I could add even more to my stask by following the **'52 Week Challenge' **that she outlines....
How it works is pretty simple. You start week one of 2024, by adding 1 HBD to your savings account. Then every week that follows, you add another on top of what you added the previous week. For example:
Week 1 - 1 HBD
Week 2 - 2 HBD
Week 3 - 3 HBD, etc...
So by the end of the year, in week 52 you add 52 HBD to savings.
What this can do, is add the power of compounding as well to your totals and can add up quite nicely. Now at my current pace, I can literally fund this 'savings challenge' by my effort here on chain. However, 1300-2000 HBD won't get me to 10,000 HBD.
Which is where I will need to push myself, sell a lot of the tokens I don't really focus on the layer 2 here on Hive to get more HBD.
So this is the target goal for 2024.....10,000 HBD.
I'm starting at.....275 HBD lol. Let's just say, I'm going to have to push myself a lot this year. Which is fine, I'm up for the challenge. And like always, even if I don't hit the target, I'll be light years ahead of the 275 I currently have in savings.

That's an ambitious goal, to be sure!
I'm always cautious about adding new goals when I already have otehrs in place. After all, I will still be working with the same 24 hours a day I always have.
So, since you are one of our community's "goal masters," when you take on a big new thing like this, is there other stuff you "leave alone" to simply grow at its own pace, without your active attention?

That's why I start my goals on January 1st, and keep at them until December 31st
But I'm always have a disclaimer with all these goals and challenges....Life happens lol That's my disclaimer.
That's definitely a worthy disclaimer... seems like we have had a higher than usual allocation of "life" since about the start of Covid!

Should be a fun year, I have this a few more coming to my goals this coming year.
That is an interesting challenge. Maybe you should save up some HBD for the later weeks so it doesn't get that rough.

Another method is say you get 1.7 USD as a HBD payout in the curation. So you put 0.7 every time you earn something to the savings. This method works and you don't have to avoid spending the cash that you want to use for real life need. So both savings and also the spending at the same time works. I just tweaked this so that it could be reasonable.
Yeah I should be able to stretch myself, to allocate for both. But I'm going to do everything I can to not 'rely' on the blockchain in 2024 for my day to day needs. I'll try to stack as much as I can lol

Hey, I can't go for $10000 yet (not with this job and definitely not in this country) but the 52 week challenge looks interesting. Doing it would be a great exercise in content creation as it starts off very easy but the difficulty will increase weekly, as will our skills, our interaction and our presence on the network. I think I'll go for this one.
It's something anyone can shoot for, especially if they are active on chain. 1 HBD a week, is all we need to get started.
I got my own plans for HBD too I think its very important for me too also earn on a stable coin but I have so little Hive I want to push my stack more, on 2024 I want to end the year with over 20k HP so it serves me as a base to my long term 100K HP goal, to then ride the market, I might do the same on 2025 ...me making 5 years plan 😂😂😂, its a lot of work but "Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, difficulty" 💪
That's the key though, having those year plans. Anyone thinking they can get 100k in 12 months or less, without big time fiat investing, are setting themselves up for failure.
Best of luck to you! I think my goal for HBD is to get to the point that I am pulling in 200 every 30 days. I'd also like to get my Hive account up to 100K HP by the end of next year. We will see how that goes. I'm keeping a lot of my Hive liquid in case it pumps, so that is going to make it hard to grow.
That's actually going to be something I seriously consider in 2024.....Keeping some Hive liquid.

Love the massive goal. 166 a month is pretty good I think. I would love to get there as well.
Your goal is very inspiring. I also saw that post of @elianaicgomes and was already calculating how to join her. But this 10k HBD? Wow you really need to push yourself hard and I believe it is achievable with consistency, discipline and hardwork. I will also set goals for my self this time, it will put me on your toes when I do
Oh it's not gonna be easy lol And waaaaaay above what I can achieve right now. But slow and steady, that's how I chip away at these things.
