Living On Autopilot: Rediscovering Passion & Purpose
In a world where the cost of living is increasingly on the rise we are left engrossed with activities to keep us surviving, by so doing, some of us take on jobs that are enough to keep our heads above water, the rat race life sets in, we take life as it is, complacency sets in and life is lived on autopilot without self-awareness.
We could be living an autopilot life without being aware, it is a danger we should avoid getting hooked onto. Lately, I have been wanting more from myself, seeking another challenge, and failing to pinpoint another challenge to keep going, for growth is beginning to work on my nerves.
Perhaps you are reading this and feeling the same, it will be nice to read your thoughts on the matter.
Self-examination
As mentioned above frequent self-examination makes us aware of the signs of life in autopilot.
Lack of passion
I don't recall when last I was bored, I have lived alone and still living alone for most of my adult life but I am rarely bored. My sister asked me the other day if I don't get bored, now that I am in Benin and living alone, my response was I have a lot to do to keep me from getting bored.
Thankfully for the passion to create content and curate daily on Hive keeps me very busy, the passion exists in what I am currently doing on Hive.
The moment we start to lose enthusiasm at what we do, lacking purpose and passion, those might be the signs of autopilot we need to step out from.
Missed opportunities
It is easy to get stuck in the same routine as a result of opportunities missed. Regret is mostly followed by missing opportunities thereby causing us to lack the drive for the development of our personal life and career.
A mindset of "what if" is developed from missed opportunities, and the danger of this is a cycle of negative thoughts that are developed living us with self-doubt for future opportunities. This way of life could lead us to be comfortable with a routine life.
Rediscovering passion
With a defined plan and purpose, we get to rediscover what it is that we are passionate about. This brings out a lively side of us to life.
We have to realize opportunities come and go in life, missing a few isn't the end of life but the lessons learned as to be ready for the next opportunity when it comes our way.
Time to reflect with self-examination might do us some good to avoid a state of autopilot.
We owe it to ourselves to make Hive great

A routine self-examination for me helps in combating unintentionally living on autopilot. Every now and then, circumstances beyond our control happens and we may find ourselves lacking purpose or passion to do something meaningful. If I found myself getting complacent, I push the limits of my comfort zone.
It is easy to get complacent with our life, self-examination and the hunger for more keep me on my toes. When I am honest with myself a guilty feeling arises knowing that I have not done enough for the day, we have to consistently do the to avoid that comfort zone.

Yes yes! That guilty feeling becomes evident when we're honest with ourselves. Another great way to avoid the autopilot state.

It's really easy to get complacent with your life and I think there are a lot of people who don't want things to change. However, I tend to see that things tend to turn out better when you are invested or passionate about it. I just think that the consistency and commitment that people need to do requires that if you want that to last long-term.
Getting complacent is easy, it is a comfort zone where one doesn't need a push or any motivation but stays relaxed in a routine state where self-development is not on the list. I suppose we are having variety of opportunities now that we can choose from which we are passionate about that in turn will help us break the state of autopilot.

As for me, I do appreciate being alive in this day and age. I have lived through the landline and post office, lived through the birth of mobile phones and internet. Most importantly the birth of BTC , cryptos and decentralization. There was a time church and govt were one, this time finance and govt are about to part ways and the ordinary person will finally have a chance to be financially free. I am sure many opportunities are coming that we can take advantage of, the future looks exciting.
Thank you for sharing and keep enjoying your week :}
Wow, thanks for this, there is a humbling side to your response that shows we have to be grateful for life first and foremost.
There is a great change happening before us that seems like nothing new especially for those o us actively in the crypto space with an interest in other aspects of technology like AI, naturally, we are evolving with the developments in this era, and with a bit of luck that should impact our growth positive.
Have a great mid-week Eric

Always find time to reflect and readjust in life, nothing is easy, you get a little they take a little hopefully balances out making ends meet in the long run.

Readjusting matters to put us back on track to where we will like to be when things aren't going positively with complacency setting in. I guess I have been too used to spending time alone the reflections are often.
