Linking Careers On Hive: Connecting With Telecoms Technicians For Job Opportunities
The term "Hive saves lives", is increasingly being used to describe Hive. For some, it pays part of the bills while some are dependent on it for their entire financial needs. Over in Ghana Hive provides bore water for communities, in one form or the other Hive is impacting lives positively.
I am benefiting from Hive in multiple ways from relationship-building as well as taking care of my financial need. Talking about relationship building, perhaps it might be wise to utilize Hive for career networking.
LinkedIn has been a platform that connects people of the same careers as well as helps in finding jobs. If we have Twitter-like App on Hive, Instagram-like App, etc we might as well have a LinkedIn-like App or community where people of the same careers connect to share knowledge and opportunities.
Linking Careers On Hive
The other day I put up #threads with the intent to connect with Hivers in the Telecoms industry as seen below.
@uyobong advised it might be best I create long-form content which is a good idea to reach a wider Hive audience. I won't be surprised if anyone has benefited from sharing job opportunities with each other through Hive, the possibilities here on Hive are endless, it depends on how it is utilized.
I am currently in the job hunting market as a Telecommunication Technician with my specialties being In-Building Solutions (IBS) or Distributed Antenna System (DAS).
I have been active on LinkedIn, SEEK, Indeed, Careerone, and others. I have gotten a call from an agency in the UK some weeks ago and had an interview from New Zealand but I don't know the outcome yet. So I am hoping for the best, especially from the interview.
I had a chat with @rtonline while I was still in South Africa for a possible opportunity over in Turkey, so here is a reminder for you buddy.
Earlier in the year I connected with @ablaze who is in the Telecom industry like myself. Should you know of a job opportunity please share it with me ablaze.
Locally in Benin, I applied online and with the help of @oadissin we went to some Telecom companies together, one of the companies oadissin had to translate my cover letter into French handwriting, I have my CV into English and French but hadn't done my Cover letter in French. oadissin has been a relentless helpful buddy!
My job is in demand in a much bigger country and economy, Benin from my observation with a population of 13 101 013 has limited demand for my Telecoms skills. Internet consumption is quite low in Benin.
It is nice being at home in Benin, whether an opportunity comes along in Benin or anywhere the offer is nice, I am readily available to get on the plane.
We owe it to ourselves to make Hive great

I think it is nice to try looking outwards in other countries when the opportunities aren't there. However, I would still caution you to make sure that a decent plan is set in place before you relocate for a job. The last thing I would want is for you to run into troubles in a different country.
Thanks, man, I am not leaving Benin without a job offer, I am not keen on going to struggling in another country. I am only keen on a job now whether permanent or contract I can always return home. With all the struggles I went through in South Africa, I don't want that ever in my life again.

There are no big problems, but the markets are very unstable and very stagnant, so my business has slowed down a lot. I hope the markets will revive after the elections.

There is a normal election atmosphere, politicians say everything before the election and hug after the election :)
