Mosquito attack makes me unhappy when just one is around, out of town they appear to know you are fresh blood for them....
Sorry to hear you had such a miserable trip, sounds familiar to those Joe took always something in Africa to fear.
No bath, that sucks outdoor bucket for a shower about the best you will get on some regions.

I don't do well in such harsh situations because of my fear of infections and viruses, but sometimes trips as these are inevitable and responsibilities one needs to fulfill
Scary sleeping on floor with rats or other vermin running through, getting sick from the visit, one would have to way up the necessity.
