Splinterlands Weekly Challenge Battle BATTLE MAGE SECRETS! Unprotected

Every week there is a Splinterlands challenge to share a rule set using a specific card and on this week's post it is a battle with the Unprotected rule set. I also encourage Splinterlands players to partake in the challenge because you get to try different strategies and earn some crypto in the process.

Rule set, Battle and Plan

The ruleset this time is Unprotected and Tis But Scratches. This means there is no armor and all monsters gain the cripple ability. There is also 28 mana available and I am left with the choice of water, life, death and dragon splinter.

The summoner I choose to use this time is Quix the Devious. It reduces the enemies ranged and speed by 1. So it is a very powerful summoner and I can use my cards to the highest level.

Total Mana:28

My plan is to deal melee damage with with an inspire to increase my damage. I have a thorns monster up front to damage any melee monster that attack it. The rest of my lineup is just melee monsters that can attack from their relative position. My Dhampir Infiltrator will be my main damage dealer due to double strike and I have Vruz for Martyr if it dies to a sneak monster.

Round 1

round 1.png
At first glance, I think it's an even match. So it will rely on whether or not I can kill that Taunt monster fast enough or not. I do think that my opponent misplayed a bit because there is the unprotected ruleset.

Round 2

round 2.png
My Vruz was resurrected and it buffed up my infiltrator. So that will come in helpful against my opponent. The taunt monster is still alive though so I need to take it out to wipe out the rest of my opponent's lineup.

Round 3

round 3.png
I was able to wipe out the taunt monster and make some progress on the rest of my opponent's lineup. At this stage, there will be no problems taking the rest of my opponent's lineup.

I like I won without too many issues due to my buffed infiltrator.

Conclusion

The battle went exactly like I expected with the minor except for that Taunt Monster. I was lucky to land enough attacks and win against my opponent. Either way, I was able to kill that taunt monster fast enough and worked on the rest of the monsters that my opponent had. The inspire plus martyr combination was quite amazing as it made things easier. My opponent messed up by placing a monster with protect because there can't be any armor in this ruleset. Other than that, I think my opponent's lineup wasn't that bad but I won because I could land enough attacks to finish off his taunt monster.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players play in a ruleset.

You did everything rightly. Using the martyr ability was truly profitable, although I thought you'd lose the match after the first round.

Yea. It depended on whether or not I could take out that taunt monster.

Damn you got your Dhampir Infiltrator pumped up, too bad for your opponent.
