Splinterlands: First time in Champion

image.png
It's the first time that I have ever reached Champion League in Splinterlands and I am a bit surprised to see it happen. I never thought it would happen but the new changes to the leagues made it possible because the Wild Format is far easier when compared to the Modern Format in ranked battles. It was only 15 days ago when I reported what was going on between the two different formats and why I think Modern was more rewarding in this post. Unfortunately, I wasn't there for long though as I was kicked out the match afterward.

Champion League

Champion League is the highest tier in Splinterlands and it was a place that I thought only the best players could reach with max level cards. So that is why I thought I would never reach it but I guess that might be because I was under the impression the game gave under the previous ranked battle system where leagues also capped your card levels. I entered Hive through Splinterlands and back then, after buying some packs, I was in the Silver/Gold Leagues for the longest time. Fighting above that just never made sense because I would just lose way more often. Even now, my deck is still around the previous Silver League cap which was Rare level 4 but I have added some cards from the more recent editions to stay more competitive.

Earnings

As I got kicked out of Champion soon after, I don't know the exact amount but I would assume that the earnings would be around 1.5-1.7 SPS for Champion III. I was getting around 1.3-1.5 SPS in Diamond I before this. So there is not much of a difference. I remember our SPS being capped by our staked SPS if it was under a specific amount and I wonder if I am in that range. Nobody talks about it much anymore so I don't know if that was scrapped in the latest updates or not. I recall someone mentioning it recently in a post but I don't remember where it was.

My Plan going forward

With the new changes to Glint, I still think my choice 2 weeks ago to stick to Wild ranked battles is the right choice. It just doesn't seem worth it to move back to Modern where I am capped around the lower or mid-Silver League for both SPS and Glint reasons. For reference, the amount of the SPS that I earn in Wild is about 1.5 times to 2 times what I would get in Modern and the Glint is about 4 to 5 times larger. Modern might be worth it if you have a stronger deck and you can get Gold League or above for the SPS rewards though. As I can't reach that League, I think the Wild format is better for me.

Conclusion

I have reached Champion for the first time but I think I was just lucky. I stopped last night after getting there but I got destroyed today fighting with a losing streak. Earning more rewards is always nice and I do think that Wild League is better for people in my range (Rare Level 4) range. I am also doing great in the current season with over 39k Glint in my season rewards right now. I was at 35k last season so it just shows that I have been earning more than last season.

Congratulations to you. I haven't gotten to champion yet. Still slugging it out in diamond One, but even if get kicked out, at least you've gotten your first champions point. Although back in the day, it could have felt more iconic

It takes time but I think you can get there eventually. You might require some luck on win streaks but I do think its a matter of time.

The latest town hall recap showed interesting development about the grain official market.
Thank you for your publication
I have been in champion two time since the change in the reward system.
Are you stocking grain or just selling on the p2p market?

I do not have any land so the grain market does not affect me. Good luck with land.

Nice job on champion ranking.
