Rising Star Weekly Giveaway #157 and Conflicting Passions

Here is my weekly status and giveaway. As usual, I am just doing some missions at night because I am busy during the day. I was able to do some missions during the day during the week but not as often as I would like. It's been quite busy as I start getting back to work. Please make sure to read the rules to qualify for the giveaway.

Conflicting Passions

Conflicting Passions is a battle OST that plays in Trials of Azure during some boss fights and it becomes the regular battle theme in the final dungeon against normal enemies. If I had to point to any character this track points me towards, it's Noel. It's when you fight her and after that fight, she becomes a member of your party again. She tends to be a more forgotten party member as you don't tend to use her as much and you don't have access to her that much in Zero and I tend to use the more accessible party members in Azure as I didn't want to change around gear as much.

This track reminds me the most about your party member Noel Seeker. She is a member of the Crossbell Guardian Force which is pretty much the militia for the small state of Crossbell. She becomes an active member of the Special Support Section later during the game but she eventually returns back to the Guardian Force. Her father was a soldier and that was the reason why she also became one. Her way of fighting relies more on firearms. I do think she does develop as a character but I feel that the story doesn't focus enough on her as a character as she tends to be one of the characters that I forget about. The image is from the wiki page for Noel Seeker.

I generally don't talk about the EVO version of any Kiseki tracks because I don't think they are different enough to warrant that, but I do think this is quite different. I still prefer the original version though but I do think it does emphasize that you are in a fight more.

Do you like any of these tracks? If so, why?

Current Status

I didn't get much done between last week and this week. I did withdraw all my starbits because I reached level 175. So I need to buy some Petrol Cans to have access to the newest mission unlocked. I also bought some crafted instruments to improve my rankings. I got 1 epic from the 12 packs that I opened this week.

Tips (source)

I think the tips are something every new player should know about. It will help people progress in the game and it hasn't really been shared since surya1adiga stopped his giveaways.

  1. Take music lessons when possible to raise skill and reduce ego.
  2. Having lesson specific instruments helps in receiving more skill from that lesson.
  3. Have pizza box to store any pizza received during mission to reuse later.
  4. Buy cold pizza slice if possible. This gives 1 refill every 24hours. Comes very handy when you are low on energy.
  5. If you have enough of cold pizza slice and pizza box, you will never run out of energy.
  6. If you have more fans than skill and you won't reduce the ego , you can use a storage trailer to store unnecessary cards. Or you can list the card in market for an unreasonably high price.
  7. Ego received for a particular mission increases every time you play it. The ego is reset to base level the next day. So, try to play different missions to control the ego gained.
  8. Keep track of your achievements to unlock in game rewards
  9. Buy storage trailer (only if necessary) to keep the cards that might have a negative effect. Like a card with high fan count resulting in ego.
  10. When earning skill points through music lessons, you can earn more points per lesson if you hold more of specific instrument cards. There seems to be base skill which is rewarded irrespective of the card count and then the skill increases depending on the number of the lesson specific card one has.
  11. Try taking up many smaller missions to fill up pizza boxes and have extra energy to play more rewarding missions. But you need to have pizza boxes for this to work.
