Rising Star Weekly Giveaway #147 and Mourning Refrain

Here is my weekly status and giveaway. As usual, I am just doing some missions at night because I am busy during the day. I was able to do some missions during the day during the week but not as often as I would like. It's been quite busy as I start getting back to work. Please make sure to read the rules to qualify for the giveaway.

Mourning Refrain

Mourning Refrain is a track that I remember quite often from Kiseki (Trials) series. This track was the ending track to Trails of Cold Steel III and I remember this track due to another cliffhanger. I had to wait a little while between the games but I played the official English released version of Cold Steel 3 on PC. It throws a lot of different emotions but the events leading up the end really kind of sucked. I don't want to spoil the cliffhanger though so all I have to say is that Class VII (new and old) failed to stop an event and I felt extremely sad at the results.

The lyrics in English are below if you are interested because the original track is in Japanese. It's clear just what type of feelings there were between the two main characters as they separated.

This track leads to the image above for Rean Schwarzer, the main character in the Erebonia arc (Cold Steel). I can't help but feel sad as he went crazy due to the events and in the end, I guess it does fit that he became the sacrifice to move the story along. I was quite sad to see the events that happened and just how much it messed Rean up. I wasn't expecting that cliffhanger and I did enjoy Cold Steel 4 when Rean solved this issue and how everything was cleaned up in the true ending. It also made that one side story episode in Reverie great as we could figure out what exactly happened during those ending scenes.

There is a rearranged version of the track. It doesn't feel like the same sad song and it does make me feel like dancing. It does give a more positive feeling and I like it. The upbeat feeling to the song is interesting and I didn't know this version existed until I did some more research into different versions of this song. I couldn't find any English covers or any live versions of this track.

I didn't get much done between last week and this week.

Current Stats

I got my stats and estimated collection value using the discord bot. I also saw a nice little bot to see my current collection value in Rising Star. Unfortunately, the bot seems to be down right now so I can't get my stats this week.

Current Ranking

I am unranked this week because I was kind of busy with Lunar New years. I'll definitely remember to drop by for my daily millionaire mission the following week.

Tips (source)

I think the tips are something every new player should know about. It will help people progress in the game and it hasn't really been shared since surya1adiga stopped his giveaways.

1. Take music lessons when possible to raise skill and reduce ego.
2. Having lesson specific instruments helps in receiving more skill from that lesson.
3. Have pizza box to store any pizza received during mission to reuse later.
4. Buy cold pizza slice if possible. This gives 1 refill every 24hours. Comes very handy when you are low on energy.
5. If you have enough of cold pizza slice and pizza box, you will never run out of energy.
6. If you have more fans than skill and you won't reduce the ego , you can use a storage trailer to store unnecessary cards. Or you can list the card in market for an unreasonably high price.
7. Ego received for a particular mission increases every time you play it. The ego is reset to base level the next day. So, try to play different missions to control the ego gained.
8. Keep track of your achievements to unlock in game rewards
9. Buy storage trailer (only if necessary) to keep the cards that might have a negative effect. Like a card with high fan count resulting in ego.
10. When earning skill points through music lessons, you can earn more points per lesson if you hold more of specific instrument cards. There seems to be base skill which is rewarded irrespective of the card count and then the skill increases depending on the number of the lesson specific card one has.
11. Try taking up many smaller missions to fill up pizza boxes and have extra energy to play more rewarding missions. But you need to have pizza boxes for this to work.
