Rising Star Weekly Giveaway #146 and The Whereabouts of Light

Here is my weekly status and giveaway. As usual, I am just doing some missions at night because I am busy during the day. I was able to do some missions during the day during the week but not as often as I would like. It's been quite busy as I start getting back to work. Please make sure to read the rules to qualify for the giveaway.

The Whereabouts of Light

The Whereabouts of Light is a track that I remember quite often from Kiseki (Trials) series. This track was mentioned quite often during the game and the full version was finally used in the ending theme track of Trails in the Sky First Chapter. I remember this track due to the heavy cliffhanger that the first game in Liberl gave and I was quite sad to hear that it was not translated into English for quite some time. It was only after some time when things got moved to the PC version that I replayed the first chapter then. This song just hits me hard as it makes me quite emotional to see the main characters separate. The second track is the harmonica version of the track that plays throughout the game and it is used quite often when Joshua (one of the main characters) is playing the harmonica. It's a beautiful track to listen to.

The lyrics in English are below if you are interested because the original track is in Japanese. It's clear just what type of feelings there were between the two main characters as they separated.

I love you, it's that simple,
so the two of us will be able to meet again.

This track and the derivative tracks is all about the two main characters in the Liberl Arc: Estelle Bright and Joshua Bright. Estelle is my number 1 best female protagonist across all the games that I played and I agree with the way that the other characters in the game describe her the sun because of how energic and positive she is. Joshua works well to cover for the recklessness that Estelle does throughout the game and I think they work well together. Throughout the Liberl arc, both of these characters develop and I have to say that this track with their journey, separation and reunion (in the later tracks) is very memorable to me.

The first track is the same track but rearranged when Joshua and Estelle are reunited in the second chapter. It's felt great to see the both of them get back together after all the issues that happened. The second game used the second video as a ending theme for Trials in the Sky second chapter. It's contrast to Whereabouts of light. It was a great ending and it felt great about how the main characters got back together and I feel that they won't separate again. That is why I feel that that the change to the "Whereabouts of Light" into the "Whereabouts of Hope" is a fitting name for this track.

There is also a super arranged version of this track using a guitar and I think it's great. I still prefer the original version of the ending theme in First Chapter (Whereabouts of Light Full version) and Second Chapter (Whereabouts of Hope) though.

As a bonus, there was an English cover done for this track. It does show the ending scenes though and I think it was a great cover for the track. It doesn't really spoil anything much as it just shows pictures from Estelle's and Joshua's childhood. The only downside is the harmonica going on through the track as I felt that it was a little immersion breaking. They also rearranged the lyrics so it isn't exactly the same as the wiki but I do feel that it fits.

Current Status

My earnings were quite pitiful. As usual, I still haven't showed up as much lately to the game but I'll try to show up everyday. I did show up a bit more this week. I did get an epic card in my pack openings.

Current Stats

I got my stats and estimated collection value using the discord bot. I also saw a nice little bot to see my current collection value in Rising Star. Unfortunately, the bot seems to be down right now so I can't get my stats this week.

Current Ranking

My rank was down slightly because I was able to log in a few times a day. It was mainly for the millionaire mission.

Tips (source)

I think the tips are something every new player should know about. It will help people progress in the game and it hasn't really been shared since surya1adiga stopped his giveaways.

1. Take music lessons when possible to raise skill and reduce ego.
2. Having lesson specific instruments helps in receiving more skill from that lesson.
3. Have pizza box to store any pizza received during mission to reuse later.
4. Buy cold pizza slice if possible. This gives 1 refill every 24hours. Comes very handy when you are low on energy.
5. If you have enough of cold pizza slice and pizza box, you will never run out of energy.
6. If you have more fans than skill and you won't reduce the ego , you can use a storage trailer to store unnecessary cards. Or you can list the card in market for an unreasonably high price.
7. Ego received for a particular mission increases every time you play it. The ego is reset to base level the next day. So, try to play different missions to control the ego gained.
8. Keep track of your achievements to unlock in game rewards
9. Buy storage trailer (only if necessary) to keep the cards that might have a negative effect. Like a card with high fan count resulting in ego.
10. When earning skill points through music lessons, you can earn more points per lesson if you hold more of specific instrument cards. There seems to be base skill which is rewarded irrespective of the card count and then the skill increases depending on the number of the lesson specific card one has.
11. Try taking up many smaller missions to fill up pizza boxes and have extra energy to play more rewarding missions. But you need to have pizza boxes for this to work.
