LPUD is a great tradition

LPUD or leo power up day was started a very long time ago. I clearly remember it was in the month of June when the Sun was beating down outside and inside there was a me trying to figure out what is LPUD

If you are a new user then you may be thinking what is this LPUD that is getting everyone so excited.

The simple concept that makes a big difference

The concept of LPUD involves a few different approaches

• The first approach is to to be active in the inleo community by way of being a content creator . That is making long format posts on inleo on a regular basis. This helps you earn Hive and Inleo rewards. Then use this accumulated rewards to power up 50 or in addition of 150 or more leo tokens.

• The other approach for those who have some money in crypto form to invest. Using this crypto one can purchase Leo tokens from one of the DEXes present on the hive blockchain.
• The third approach is a mix of the above two methods.

Irrespective of the approach the end result is that one grows the Leo Power. The Leo power grows and one keeps accumulating more and more leo tokens in the powered up mode.

The effect of Powered up Leo

Having more Leo Power means one can give bigger vote in leo terms.

By giving more and bigger votes one gets more curation returns.

Leo is the native token of the inleo community. The inleo community is a layer 2 community on the Hive blockchain.

One significant feature of the layer 2 token is that when the curation reward and the author reward has no lock in like the hive token voting mechanism.

Regular power ups help

Even if a user is making small contributions towards powerup the end result is a cumulative leo power that is significant.
As the LP or Leo power grows the weightage of Leo tokens in your portfolio grows.
These tokens have great potential as not only you earn the curation rewards and author rewards but also evergreen rewards.

Evergreen rewards bring in a lot of value

Evergreen rewards make it possible to earn rewards based on the number of views a post receives.
Any post on the hive blockchain ceases to receive post rewards post the 7 day period. At this point the post payout happens and rewards are distributed to the authors and the curators.
Evergreen rewards are lifelong earning opportunity.

As long as views keep coming to an author posts the author would continue to earn evergreen rewards.

Eligibility for LPUD

Power up Leo tokens on the 15th
There are two types of power up:

CUB attack: Power up at least 50 $leo on the 15th
LION attack: Power up at least 150 $leo on the 15th.

• Your total Leo Power (on the 15th) must be less than 25k.
• You must power up at least 50 Leo on December 15.
• You must not have powered down Leo since September 15.
• Make a post on InLeo about LPUD, why are you joining, what do you think about the initiative, the community or anything related to InLeo (A Thread is not enough).

Closing thoughts

I started with zero leo however as I am growing the number of LEO that I hold an power up I can feel the difference it is making to my account.
I feel LPUD let us start from a piggy bank and grow and turn into bank slowly but surely.
