Motherhood: Busy mornings with my teenage son..

Hello all,

How are you. Trust doing well.

I am back with my new post about my busy mornings with a school going boy. My son is almost 13 years old and he is Grade 7. By the way he is turning 13 years old on this 11th Feb and I am very happy that my little boy who used to sit in my lap is a teen now. 🥰🥰
Time runs really fast..

My son leaving from home for school at 6.30 am. I wake up at 5.30 AM. After waking up the first thing I am doing is having a cup of hot water to recharge myself and make myself awake. After that I start waking up my son and the real struggle starts now 🤨.

I start waking him up at 5.40 AM but he never wakes up immediately, ke keep on extending his sleep by just saying 5 minutes. Every time I am waking him up he is saying Mom give me 5 more minutes, I will wake up in 5 Minutes by myself but the fact is this is never happening. His 5 minutes never finishing in 5 minutes and he never wakes by himself 😂😂. After waiting for couple of more minutes I am trying to wake him up again.

After repeated attempt of 3-4 times, he finally wakes up around 6 o'clock. Then he is finishing his morning routine, bathing, brushing etc and getting readyfor school.

By the time he gets ready, I prepare his breakfast and lunch. While preparing breakfast I suddenly realize , Oh !! Its already 6.20 and Ishit is not ready yet. I call him.. Ishu its already 6.25 (I can not tell him correct time otherwise he will be relaxed and take more time to be ready, usual mom thing 😉). I run back and forth from bedroom to kitchen until he is ready. Once he is ready I give him breakfast and milk Until he finishes his breakfast I make his lunchbox ready. Finally by 6.30 we both are ready to leave the house to catch the school bus.

Here I want to mention few points which helps both of us to manage our morning rush efficiently.

I have strict instruction to my son to arrange his school uniform, bag, stationary etc. everything previous night so that he doesn't need to spend time in morning for these things and he can get ready on time even after waking up at 6 o'clock.

I also plan the breakfast and lunch menu a day prior and arrange the ingredients accordingly.

I make sure he drinks water in empty stomach which helps him for faster bowel movement.

I always tell my son that if you want to sleep little extra in the morning then you have to complete other things faster so that you don't be late to catch the school bus.

Planning is the key and if we can plan our mornings correctly we can complete our work on time. And this is how we are managing our mornings..

Thanks all..
