Beautiful Grey Crowned Crane

I want to share with you all the pictures of beautiful Grey Crowned Crane also known as African Crane or African Crown Crane.

I saw this bird first time during my recent visit to a bird park, even I was not aware of its name also but I found it very attractive. Its a beautiful bird with a crown of golden spiky feathers, red neck, grey body and long black feets.

I did some research on this bird and came to know that this is called Gray Crowned Crane. I found the fact that Grey Crowned Crane is the National Bird of Uganda and this can be seen on Ugandan Flag also as the national symbol. This bird is mostly found in Eastern and southern African region. These birds are spectacular dancer. These are known as the symbol of wealth and good fortune.

The bird looks beautiful with the white patches on sides of the face with small red patched on the top of white patches, bright red neck pouch and white with a touch of golden feathers.
