Sixteen Thousand (16k) HP Milestone

A little over 2 short weeks away from 2024. For some, this would be the time to think about their New Year's resolutions or so (I don't do that). For others, it could be the chance to check on how they have been doing through the year. An evaluation of sorts.

And speaking of which, it's time for me to do the latter concerning my Hive goals. It's a little early but the following weeks can surely be crazy busy in real life.

Back in January, a goal was made to reach at least 15k Hive Power by year-end. Along with that is the acknowledgment that creating content consistently would be the way to go plus of course, keeping on with the daily manual staking, showing up, and grinding every day (curating, interacting, transacting).

Thankfully, that target had been checked off earlier than expected (1st of November). The daily content creation and staking are also on track to date.

Today, my Hive Power just crossed the 16k mark, yay! Another small milestone and I'm simply chuffed I could dance. Started in the month with 15,674 HP and it has grown by 2% (326 HP) in the last 2 weeks.

It's true what they say, that there's no better time to build than in the bear market. Not that I'm happy about it or the price of HIVE being what it is now (it was over $1 when I started being active onchain), but it has an advantage. It allowed me and many others to be able to add more to our stakes. That's just another positive way to see it.

Along the way, I also made a goal to have some HBD on Savings. The 20% APR is simply irresistible. Besides, it provides an opportunity to earn passively without much risk. It was growing nicely but sometime in the middle of the year, I took them all out, swapped them to HIVE, and used them to buy $LEO, all staked on my alt.

The good thing was that there's always the chance to start all over and build it back. Been doing that in the last few months which brought it to today's number - 500 HBD on Savings earning interest and compounding every 30 days. It would be nice to grow it more.

While I have an ultimate 5-year goal that I shared some time ago (50k HP and 5k HBD Savings), I would be setting yearly smaller goals toward it. To start with, I'm going to be aiming for 23k Hive Power and 1k on HBD Savings for 2024. Like this year, I would also want to keep showing up on chain, so creating content would be one of those that I'd be doing, hopefully daily too.

We shall see...

Overall, this year has been wonderful both on-chain and in real life. There hadn't been any major setbacks or challenges so all good. Various things were learned and unlearned and there's a lot more. Technology and innovation continue to mesmerize me, I can barely keep up but my Hive adventure will keep on.

Congratulations to you for achieving 16k HP milestone. Feeling good to hear that.
I believe that you can achieve 50k within 5 years.
I am also planning to keep some HBD on saving from January like you. I will start saving it for the next bear cycle or for my real life emergency situation 🙂.
