Ride a Horse and Gallop Away For an Adventure

We rewatched Mulan two days ago. There were horses and such that awakened a desire of mine which was born over 25 years or so when I watched one of the equestrians in the country, Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski on her trainings.

During my overseas stint, I also used to watch players in the Hong Kong Jockey Club and would do an imaginary bet on which one is going to win the race. It was fun and exhilarating that I would giggle and clap giddily to celebrate when my chosen horse wins.

Nope, not that I wished to be an equestrian, a jockey or a gambler. I simply wanted to ride a horse and go for an adventure - roam around a ranch or go for a horse trek on some mountain side. Watching the film made me realize that the wish wasn't gone or forgotten, but was sort of buried amongst piles of things that I wanted to do during my youth but never really made it happen.

A wishful thinking?

Sometime last year, I came across a post mentioning about a golf course not so far away from here. It said one can camp for the night and do horseback riding the following day. It got me excited that I went checking any other related posts online for some further confirmation. My heart sank when I found out it was not true. One can see horses but cannot ride any of them at all.

I have never ridden a horse and don't have any memory of touching one either. Oh well, slash that. I did touch a white pony once when I brought my nephew to one of the city parks where he was put on the back of one just for a photo opp, lol! The pony didn't move at all, it just stood there for people to climb on and take photos.

Sometime in January this year, I read an article here on Hive by Stortebeker where he shared about their family adventure in New Zealand and finding a place which, I quote what he wrote, "was suitable for even those who have never even seen a horse in their life." I did wish we had such a horse farm around here.

That little voice inside me that really wanted to just jump into a saddle, make the horse walk, trot and gallop away to a quiet place amongst nature will just remain a wish unless I do something about it. And I don't know how much more time I have left in this universe to make that happen, but I'll keep it alive, at least for now.

Until then, we'll live life one day at a time.

Cheers to a lovely day!

I wished to ride a horse someday. I was supposed to have that chance when we were in Tagaytay. I thought the horse back riding was included in our ticket, but actually not. My butt only landed for a second on the back of the horse as I was told to get off of it, lol.

There is something in that image of riding into the dawn... Until you have that wish in your heart, there is a possibility that you will do it! I can't remember that there was a "horseriding culture" in the place where I lived, but I have noticed lately that here where I live now, people are opening new horse farms... and horseriding schools for children and adults!

It is a challenge to learn something new, and it is an adventure to gallop to the unknown! 😃

I have picked this post on behalf of the @OurPick project which will be highlighted in the next post!

I definitely want to experience it. It's nice that they are opening horse farms where you live now. People will have more places to spend their leisure time with. And horseback riding school, wow! I want something like that😅

Thank you again

I can really relate to your desire to ride a horse and go on an adventure. I've always loved horses, and I've always wanted to ride one through the mountains or along a beach.

I think it's great that you're still holding onto your dream, even though it hasn't happened yet. It's important to have dreams, and it's even more important to never give up on them.

I know it can be frustrating when things don't work out the way you planned, but I think it's important to keep trying. Maybe you could do some research online to see if there are any horse farms or riding trails near you. Or, you could even try talking to your friends or family members to see if they know of any places where you could go horseback riding.

Yes, I'm keeping it alive and hopefully get the chance to make it happen. I found one and it's faraway from where we live but we can set some time to go😉

Thank you and it's awesome that you love horses. Hope you can also have the chance to ride one for an adventure.

Actually, I have never rode a horse before and I don't know what it feels like...
I'm sure that I will get to experience but I'll be scared in my first trial

Hello, sis!
I hope you get your wish to ride a horse someday. I rode a few times when I was younger and we went to friends' ranches, but I'm far from being an experienced rider, hehe.
Thank you for joining the prompt 🥰.

I don’t want to say that riding a horse is overrated, but having done it a couple of times it’s some thing I think people should experience at least once. And of course if you really enjoy it or love horses then you should definitely experience it.

I haven't watched the movie. Seems interesting.
I have ride on horse while it was walking but I never dared to ride on horse in the time of running because it needs training to ride on running horse..

The movie is a great watch :)

Well at least you have ridden a horse and it walked so that's already an experience.

Whenever I go to the beach there I always found some horses with a horseman. They took a little money and allow them to ride on horses. and I grab the opportunity😅.

I'm wishing hard for you to get to meet and ride a horse, even if it's just an old pony. Sitting across that huge animal, when it moves, you can feel every muscle. It's scary! It's wonderful! And scary again!

I haven't been on a horse since I was 10 or so, but I still remember it. Even if you don't know the horse you are riding, there is a connection. You are one body - the horse listens to you and you have to listen to the horse too.

Aww, thank you so much for that. And it's amazing the you still can remember your ride years ago. I think it will be scary but the wanting to experience is stronger😅

Aww I am sure you will get on a horse one day CJ.

It has been years since I last rode a horse and I doubt I would do it for very long as would screw with my back.

I ended up on twitter with your equestrian you used to watch!

Have a wonderful Thursday CJ, and I saw she was CJ to sort of...
