Nickelback, South 65 & Campbell [Kindness for TTT]

Hola Tuesday!

I caught a bug from the husband. He came home with flu after a night's stay at his father's place on Saturday. The virus may have been so strong that it got me on Sunday night. Still nursing through today but already feeling better, apart from the nasty headache and some pain in the eyes.

Anyhow, it's triple T (TTT) day. If you're wondering what I'm referring to, it's the Three Tune Tuesday initiative by Ablaze where we share 3 songs that we like and recommend. To get the full idea, visit his 140th recommendation.

I missed participating last week so I made sure to not do the same thing this time. And so without further ramblings, here is what I've got on my list - all three have something to do with empathy and kindness. The inspiration was from a thread by Triple T (TheTimeTravelerz) that I read earlier in the day and I quote "In a world where you can be anything..... Choose to be kind."¹

Nickelback - If Everyone Cared


This was on their 5th album and was released in 2006. Accordingly, it was announced that 100% of all digital sales for this song will be donated to the charities of Amnesty International and International Children's Awareness Canada.².

Amongst the songs of Nickelback, this is what I like the most, simply because of the beats and more importantly, the lyrics.

If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day when nobody died

"Maybe, if everyone cared, there would be no wars," that was my mind going elsewhere while listening to this song.

South 65 - A Random Act of Senseless Kindness


South Sixty-Five was an American boy band formed in 1997 and this song was part of their album that was released in 1998. Unfortunately, they disbanded in 2001.

With a random act of senseless kindness
Unexpected hand to help remind us
A little bit of love is the cure for hate
It's easy to give up but it's never too late

South 65 has turned RAOK into RAOSK, and I kinda like the sound of it. A random act of senseless kindness!

Glen Campbell - Try A Little Kindness


A song released in 1969, and although very old, the message is timeless!

You've got to try a little kindness yes show a little kindness
Yes shine your light for everyone to see
And if you'll try a little kindness and you'll overlook the blindness
Of the narrow minded people on the narrow minded streets

And here's a bonus that I can't help sharing, Kindness Boomerang by Life Vest Inside. The video says it all. Kindness does not ask for much but sometimes, we neglect spreading it.
