#MyHiveGoals: Continuing Growth (Taking a Shortcut?)

The first half of the year is gone and we are on to the second half. And today marks my 19th month of participating in the HPUD initiative (the 7th for this year). You could say the Hivebuzz badge is one of the motivations why I keep doing it but it is more on the goal of growing my Hive Power consistently along with the others in the community. It's addicting and also gives a kick in the arse that pushes me to continue especially when I'm feeling the temptation of laziness trying to set in.

And unlike when I just started, checking my HP doesn't happen often so seeing my HP sitting at 11.4k this morning gave me a bit of surprise and some yays. It could have been more but there were other tokens where I used my HIVE with, LEO for example. It is my biggest spent this year, around 700-800 HIVE was used to buy it in May alone, the funds didn't come solely from this account though. It's a great buy I'd say. Then there's the drip token DBOND, a collaboration between silverstackeruk of SPI and raymondspeaks of BRO, although I only bought 150 of it.

Anyhow, going back to HivePUD before I get lost altogether, lol! I just did a 100 power up which brought my HP to 11,520.

Hive Power Goal (2023)

15,000 - 11,520 = 3,480 to go

Early in the year (January), I set 15k Hive Power as my target to achieve at the end of the year. It was quite ambitious as my HP then was only 7,486. Looking back, I think it was a good decision to have given myself that challenge.

Doing a quick calculation, a total of 4,034 HIVE has been added (staked) in the course of six months. That made the account's HP grow for about 53.88% in the first half of the year.

And that means I'm still on track, so it's all good!

Progress in the previous month

One of my goals too, is stake HIVE every single day and glad to have not missed any since I started it January of last year. Yesterday was my 546th day doing that. Last month, I had been staking at least 5 HIVE daily which helped in the 6.4% account growth, re:

• 1st June: 10,733 HP
• 30th June: 11,420 HP

A total of 687 HIVE was added in 30 days, re:

• Manual Staking: 267 HP
• 50% HP Auto Staking: 420 HP

Slowly but surely, the growth continues. And for that, I'm giving myself a thumbs-up, a pat in the back and yeah, a happy dance too😂

That's not the end of it of course, the grind goes on and on. Although there's a known shortcut to growing one's HP and that is buying HIVE using one's own fiat money, I ain't taking that route for now. And while it is a great and easier option, it feels satisfying (at least for me) to grow mine in a more challenging way as it keeps my days a little more productive.

Perhaps one day, I will. But until then, the usual continues.
