Jackson Wang's Dawn On Us, Titanic & LMLY for TTT

Tuesday which means time for TTT. We were home for the day to rest after spending a few days at the hospital. While I wanted to stick around until Mom gets discharged, I felt so drained and needed to refill my energy and the best place to do that was home.

Anyhow, after playing some relaxing instrumentals most of the morning, I thought of listening to other tunes and while searching for Rain, Jackson Wang came through. I got interested because although he is Chinese, his songs are mostly in English. A quick research made me learn that he is fluent in various languages like Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, and English.

Wang is a Hong Kong rapper, singer, songwriter, dancer and fashion designer. He was a member of the South Korean boy band Got7 formed by JYP Entertainment. He left the band and founded the record label Team Wang, where he serves as the creative director and lead designer for its subsidiary fashion brand Team Wang Design.¹

Not only that, prior to his music career, he was also a professional fencer and won several awards for representing the HK fencing team. A multi-talented star, yeah? Anyhow, here's to share 3 of his digital singles that I like:

Jackson Wang - Dawn of Us

This is the first song by Wang that I listened to and I find that his rapping style is softer than most. It has a chill vibe. Might be forgettable but it's just okay to play to the finish and move on to another.

The single was released in April 2018.

Jackson Wang ft. Rich Brian - Titanic

Hip hop! Something different and is cool, fun, and I kinda like the part where he whispered the lyrics. A surprising change from the kpop style.

Jackson Wang - LMLY

This probably is my favorite among Wang's songs that I have come across during the day. It has a fun, cool, and light tune which makes it easy to listen to. He self-directed the music video himself and shared his thoughts and concepts about it at the end.
