Gardens and Passion

"No single sort of garden suits everyone. Shut your eyes and dream of the garden you’d most love then open your eyes and start planting. Loved gardens flourish, boring ones are hard work.”

—Jackie French

I was impressed with the creativity and passion of the people through the things we observed during our recent trip to the Adivay venue, especially in the areas of landscaping and gardening where limited spaces were utilized yet they were able to present some really cozy and beautiful gardens.

Mini-waterfalls, mini-fountains, mini-ponds and what have you.

While these are only temporary and will be dismantled or removed probably in December, they do provide a relaxing atmosphere to people visiting the area and probably give them some ideas too which they can incorporate into their own yards.

The venue featured not only ornamentals and flower gardens but also vegetables. There was a hydroponics setup with some really healthy and robust veggies (Bok choy, varieties of lettuce, Tatsoi, and others in them. The husband was so interested that he took the time to examine how the structure was built and the water system too.

It can be a good option to have a more sustainable supply of healthier veggies for the kitchen table.

Then there were also vertical gardens where bamboo planters were used. I think this can be a good concept to apply even in urban areas where spaces can be a challenge. It can be on one's balcony or probably a corner of one's porch.

I showed these to my sister and she was already thinking about having one installed in their place. The challenge with our local bamboos is that they are quite weak. The good thing is that there are better varieties coming from the lowlands which I believe can last a lot longer. I wonder, would you consider this way of vertical gardening in your own place?

Here's to share some of the succulents and cacti garden arrangements which obviously took effort, imagination, and love.

And garden accessories like tall and huge jars added some kind of a Japanese touch and then they gave that local feeling with the bamboo fencing. I can imagine myself being in a zen mood any time of the day in this setting.

A few years ago, I was dreaming of a well-groomed garden out in the yard, well-kept and with proper landscaping. Fast forward to today and none of that happened.

Why?

The same reason that we are not enjoying fresh produce today like we used to in the past - the lazy me keeps winning and can't make myself do things even when I do imagine them in my head, lol!

Last year, I promised to start it in the summer. The season came and went but... I think you could guess the outcome, lol!

Anyhow, whilst I can't make my own yard look like those we've seen, at least my plants are still thriving. It's a disgrace that I'm even saying this but I hope to rekindle the passion I once had for the garden. The husband is just as surprised as I am, but we're giving it time to naturally come back and I know it will... one day soon!

And I still can dream :)

This place looks incredible. I would definitely love to visit such a place. The good thing about visiting such places is that there is always something new to learn or to see.

would you consider this way of vertical gardening in your own place?

I already started considering it as it looks like it would save a lot of space but again, we have the soft kinds of baboon around here too.

That's true. It's a learning adventure.

Vertical gardening is good. I've seen others use empty plastic bottles and just hang them on the walls of their houses or storages.

I've seen the plastic bottles technique and I think it's a great way to recycle.

Yes, the bottles last really long so I think they are better than bamboos :)

This looks amazing and inspiring I have a little space at our house front and I have been thinking of what to do with it.

I don't know if I can get some baboons around here but I can definitely try something out.

And I hope that you can start working on your dream gardening very soon.

Super cool and perfect nong mga plants or veggies na nasa bamboo, I think I some video clip of something similar to this na even they have limited space, but with this way of producing them, ang dami pa ring naaani, it's a good business actually foe them. Ang galing galing lang uwu. Ang ganda pa tingnan, neat and tidy, uwu

It's just that there are places like this that are rarely seen where the garden is so well landscaped and so well cared for.
