Follow Your Bliss (Heart), Today

This morning, the husband read an interesting phrase:

"Working hard for something we don't care about is called s..." he paused and then looked right at me indicating he was waiting for me to say the final word.

"Oh, so this is a fill-in-the-blanks kind of game, huh! It's called stupidity," I said the first thing that came to mind.

"Stress" he gave emphasis to the word and went on to read further.

"Working hard for something we love is called... He stopped again.

"Living well?" I said with an unsure tone with a giggle.

He read the whole verse:

Working hard for something we don't care about is called stress. Working hard for something we love is called passion.

"Who said so?" I asked.

"Simon Sinek" he was not really sure if he was reading the last name correctly. I am not either (is it 'Si-nek' or 'Sy-neck?)

Either way, we got the message.

I often get lost in my thoughts when being asked the question about passion. I had this notion that finding one's real calling can be a bit tricky. While others may have effortlessly learned theirs early on, some or probably most people might still be 'groping in the dark' trying to discover theirs.

And that includes me.

"Follow Your Bliss Today"

That was the farmboy's ending words each time he made a short post some time ago when he was still active on Noise. I didn't ask where he got it, didn't even attempt to Google it but I do love the message.

I think it goes perfectly with following one's heart or innermost voice, at least that's my interpretation of it.

My early 20s until my mid-30s were spent in the corporate world mostly overseas. While I loved and enjoyed most of those years, it came to a point where I just lost interest. For one, I was getting married and second, the job became something I no longer looked forward to doing each passing day. And that's when I decided it was over.

The pay and benefits were great and the boss was good too that he kept the offer open so I gave it another shot and went back to it after a few years off. But then, I ended up quitting in just over 15 months of going back to the company.

I never looked back since despite all the other goodness that comes along with it. It was time to find what else was waiting for us out there.

Fast forward to today, we're loving life as it is. We have more dreams than ever and there are still many things we want to do and experience. And we are going to tick them off, one at a time.

Anyhow, the husband went on to read another phrase that really cracked us up:

If you like to make money without doing anything then you are...

"dreaming!" I butted in.

"Nope!" He objected, shaking his head and laughing hard at the same time.

"Then what?" I was obviously anxious.

If you like to make money without doing anything then you are a thick-faced!

In Tagalog: "Gusto mong kumita nang walang ginagawa? Ang kapal naman ng mukha mo" 🤣

LOLOLOL! 🤣🤣

I will leave you with that and have a glorious midweek!

I'm one of those who hasn't found my passion yet. I'm still not sure about everything actually. So tor now, I'm just doint what I'm good at, ignoring the what ifs and still marching forward. I mean, for sure, I'll find it someday. Aha.

Yong last, nababasa ko yan somewhere sa fb, lol.

I feel you, sis :) The important thing is that we enjoy what we do now without any regrets :)

And for the last quote, yes. I think he got it from FB, lol! Tagalog yon eh. Sobrang tawa namin

Yes na yes to that, nothing will happen kapag ipilit na hanapin. Masasayang ang time ang kakahanap, so gawin muna ibang bagay while exploring uwu. Kala mo nsmsn tunay na nag eexplore ako ee no hahaha.

Tawang tawa din ako dyan ahaha. Diko alam sino nagpauso pero its everywhere with face pa nong mga pips haha

Haha, the last phrase got me laughing.

Honestly, when we are not passionate about what we do, we tend to lose interest because it becomes more of an obligation and this increases our stress level.

I once worked with a firm and along the line, I lost interest because I wasn't passionate about it, but when I quit I felt peace and joy, even though I was not earning as much as I was.

So I believe this phrase so much. So let me ask you, are following your bliss now? 😄

I'm glad it made you laugh, that's the purpose of it I guess :)

And very true what you said, we don't find enjoyment when we do not like what we do. Glad you opted to quit rather than stress yourself.

As to your question, I believe I am :) There's nothing better than doing what makes us tick😉 I believe you do too?

"Gustong kumita nang walang [masyadong] ginagawa", that sounds like DeFi.

Just look for a nice LP and farm it. Then harvest the rewards once a week. 😁

Hehe. It's a thing which I used to do with my sister and brother. It's like a game 😅 for me.

Working hard for something we don't care about is called stress. Working hard for something we love is called passion.

Great message indeed. I also loved the line very much.

he was still active on Noise.

It's good to hear you also play a similar game with your sister. It is fun, yes?

And yes, I was referring to noise cash 😉

What a great message, it is good to do what give us joy, doing what we don't have passion for make life boring.

Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day

Fraud. I didn't think you'd come back once you began avoiding me. When I reached out to you I was hoping I was wrong. Thought maybe you'd respond and clear it up but you didn't. Dammit, sometimes i hate it when I'm right. Now I'll be downvoting everything you do cuz I don't believe you're authentic.

How won't u believe I'm authentic and why do you downvote me all the time? Did I make a wrong comment on your post or what's the problem?

No, you've never commented on my posts. I would've busted you out sooner. You're a vote farmer.

I've seen you lead the leaderboard for weeks straight at Ecency. Soon as someone like me called you out, you went silent.

I'd rather not downvote but you wouldn't respond to any of my other actions so I dont believe anything about you is authentic. Prove me wrong. At one time, cmplxty and I rapped for days on your page and you never noticed cuz you're spitting out comments every 30 seconds machine like.

Your responses on the block are every couple seconds, covering a wide array of topics. Yet, your original content, you hardly if ever, respond to your own comments. You left me no choice but to investigate.

I don't believe you're authentic. I called you out and asked questions weeks ago and you've chosen to avoid me until now because ive been taking away your rewards.

I'd correct it and balance those votes out but I dont believe you are who you say you are.

Lol
You should have asked and I didn't know when you called me out. I have enough time to spend here and I'm a fast typist so I respond to posts fast and that's just for the people I'm following.
And I don't just go to people's account to make unreasonable comments
At the same time, please don't call me a fraud coz I'm not
I'm here to enjoy posts of other people and also to earn
So ruining my reputation because of your assumption would not be nice on me.
Thank you!

Why didn't you explain this a week ago when I first called you out? Could've upvoted a couple of your comments and evened everything out.

You're a fast typist, you say, without errors in a single comment section other than your own as though it's a different keyboard.

I'm not talking out my ass. Robots are easily disguised these days.

I'm not downvoting you to tarnish your reputation, I'm downvoting you to get you attention. Nothing else worked.

And if you or anyone else is ever offended from defending their self, they or you shouldn't be. There's a shitload of us around here who have stake in this blockchain and, for that, we're obligated to keep it real.

Thanks for explaining yourself, that's all I was asking for. It's not personal. There's plenty of room in a virtual world, this block, for all of us.

I try to keep everyone on their toes and leaderboard leaders, you, are real easy to spot.

I think it got you for what, 40 or 50 cents?

Here, I planned on fixing it the whole time.

Simon Sinek is a good author. I'm currently reading one of his books, "Start With Why". It helps me a lot in managing our org at school and even my perspectives about things I do.

Finding our passion is sometimes hard in the sense that , we couldn't pursue it. Why? It's complicated 🤣, adulting life maybe when you had that obligations.

I love the Tagalog translation by the way.

It is true, isn't it? Hehe

Well, the search for passion is not always easy journey for everyone, as you mentioned.

Sometimes, it also happens that we know what we want to do but we don't do it out of some compulsions or compromises.

Choosing the path of our passion at times demands skmr sacrifices and crazy decisions. However, the satisfaction it brings is eternal.

Yes, very true, lol!

And I agree with what you said that we do need to make drastic decisions and sacrifices if we are to find what truly makes our soul glow and tick. Sometimes, we know what we want but we often push it behind because it means we have to compromise on things and such.

Losses and gains go hand in hand.
As in your case, you left highly paid job because it was not catching your soul. You chose a financial loss for a personal gain. Such decisions are really difficult to make, aren’t they?

May mga kilala kong ganito eh. Ahahahaa

Working hard for something we love is called passion.

Ang tagal kong hinanap kung ano ang passion ko. Kung ano ba talaga ang magmomotivate sa akin. It turns out superficial lang pala ang motivation ng pera sa akin. Now I'm working a pay-less job homeschooling my kid full time. I've never worked harder in my life. But this is the first time I am working really hard for something that I am truly passionate about.

Haaa, haaa, this is a serious lesson to learn about life and following our heartbeats, you know most times we believe we will do this and that but being actually consistent or even starting becomes hard, but if we can really follow our heartbeats, maintain what we believe in, a lot of issues in our lives will be in place but sometimes we are distracted from focusing. That's when we can actually deceive ourselves.

Thank you for reminding us to follow our hearts, no stopping, no laziness, no distractions.
