Dreaming On [Ultimate 5-Year Goals]

Goals, dreams, targets, aims (whatever you prefer to call them) propel us to do things with more eagerness or drive.

Three years ago, I wrote on my journal the one thing that I wanted to accomplish on or before my 48th birthday. We are holding on that goal and working toward it to this very day and will continue to do so with confidence that it will be achieved.

Consequently, I decided to challenge myself with a second long-term goal, specific for Hive and it will have a 5-year timeframe which will coincide with what I have penned down in my journal.

Why so?

Hive is 'home' to me and it will be in the next 5, 10 years and beyond (as long as the blockchain remains alive and while I'm also able). I think having something long-term on my personal roadmap is a good way to go.



My Ultimate 5-Year Hive Goal

This was inspired by Jongo (jongolson). I came across one of his #MyHiveGoal posts way back in 2022 and it had given me the idea of setting mine too. Although I have shared about my short-term goals, I have not really given a serious thought on what my ultimate targets are.

But it came to me most recently, hence the question on the LoH prompt for this week. Here's to share what I intend to work on and cross off in 5 years' time.

  • ▶️ 50k Hive Power

    Growing my HP has always been the driving force behind my daily activities on-chain. I do slack at times but not when it comes to staking HIVE.

    To record, here's the current snapshot of my Hive Power. It grew from less than 300 HP in January 2022 to what it is now. I would like to see it at 50k in 2028. That would mean I will have to add 37k HP in the next 63 months (an average of 7k+ per year).


  • ▶️ 5k HBD Savings

    Diversify they say, so yes, this is my way of doing it here on Hive. I think we do like the fact that saving HBD on-chain generates a 20% APR which is hard to ignore. Of course the 20% may not remain forever and there will surely be changes to come in the next few years or so. Still, I would like to have something that earns me passively and safely.

    5k is not quite realistic but I love some challenge. Will see how it will go for me on this.


  • ▶️ 50k Leo Power

    LEO is one of the L2 tokens that I am currently building. It will be good to keep growing it organically through curation, delegation and content rewards. I'm also counting on the Leo Ads revenue distribution and hope it will start soon!

    These are my current holdings in both wallets. A total of 23k Leo Power. 27k more to go or an average of 430 LEO each month.


Final Thoughts

These numbers kind of scare me but I would like to keep myself motivated. The ultimate goal is to build something that will earn me passive income in the longer run.

I haven't done any calculations but the sound of 50 HIVE a day in content + curation rewards excites me. I'm hopeful that the value of HIVE will increase in the coming years.

So yes, the dream is on!

Those goals seems huge but I feel it's not impossible because with growth the process of growth become faster. But 50k HP in next 5 years beyond my imagination 😅. So I set my plan now. I will hijack you 5 years later 🤣.

Yes, Inti. The numbers scare me and it's okay, lol! Dreaming is free and why not super size it? haha! The challenge is on and I hope things will continue to be good and make me achieve those numbers in 5 years. Not sure though when the bull run comes, I will definitely take some profits hehe.

Having long term goals is a worthy challenge to work on. I think they're very much achievable with compounding and the exponential nature of crypto. Best of luck to you :)
