Big Toy Memories and Creating Some More

(Edited)

The husband and I were at the TS Mall last month for some stuff. We were thinking of buying a small fridge for the bedroom when we passed by the display of big toys. I gasped at the sight of them!

This toy truck reminded me of my childhood days when we had a red toy truck (a bit similar to this), that I and my brother would ride along the sloped road during the summer when we got to stay in one of our farmhouses. Those were the days - fun, free, and filled with laughter.

It also brought up another memory where during one Lent season, we were playing when my aunt (Mom's sister) who was cleaning weeds down the property, decided to burn the tall grass below. Since it was summer, all other dried things caught fire. Our fruit trees and all other plants and the vines my mom had along the yard, got burnt and the fire almost got the wall of the farmhouse.

Dad had to take his truck and his jeep (which he called 'Mitzu') far away while Mom was frantically telling us to run to the farthest end of the road. Other people in the neighboring farms came to the rescue. Thankfully, there was enough running water so the fire was extinguished before the wall totally got burnt.

My aunt cried a lot and apologized to everyone

Anyway, they have a few selections of big bikes too. Would you buy any of these if you had a boy and he wanted to have one?

I honestly could not answer that myself, lol!

The store is so huge that when standing at one end, no one may be able to see the other end. I remember my sister kind of lost her 5-year-old daughter here some years ago only to find her chitchatting with one of the guards near the escalators, lol! They have quite a good setup if I may say so - a guard at every exit.

Cycling is becoming a common, shall I say sport nowadays and the superstore has a display of various bikes and related wears. One of them is RUDY, a rather costly brand of helmets, goggles, gear, and such.

Well, we spent time checking out various brands. Then just when we were about to get the retro double-door red mini-fridge (I did not take a pic, sorry), I suddenly had that nagging thought or shall I say, feeling and I had to let it out, "Do we really need another fridge in the house?" I asked the husband. The guy who attended to our queries looked so confused and we had to tell him to give us a minute, lol!

It's funny but we ended up not buying what we went there for. The answer to the question was clear and loud - we did not need another machine in our little kingdom. Laughing at ourselves, we just went around, even testing out a few Lazy Lounger Bean Bags. (I wanted one for my lil corner). Didn't find one that caught the eye.

Noticed this stylish dishware in one of the displays. It looked more like one to be in a museum than on a table, lol!

The husband went ahead to the tools section so I had some moments with these tiny ones.

Also had a wee rendezvous with this chef who looked like he was taunting me, lol!

I followed the hubby where he was. He bought some screws and we headed down to the next floor and exited the mall. He wanted to check the other shop nearby for a few other things on his list.

I'm rather shy to take photos when there are people so I only took these few where there isn't anyone looking.

I noticed these nice graphics behind the display of fridges so I took some snaps.

Believe it or not but when shopping, the hubby takes a longer time than I do. I have a bad back and it easily hurts when I stand or walk for a prolonged period, so I often have to remind him it's time to go.

That day was no different.

He spent over an hour going around the displays in the next shop. I, on the other hand, entertained myself by playing with some kitchen stuff like these rubberized mittens.

I got tired nonetheless and was just thankful to have found a place to sit and wait until he got satisfied and finally picked what he needed.

From there, we dropped by another bazaar but I stayed in the car so he would shop faster, lol! Then we drove for about 2.5 hours away to catch up with my nibling's (my sister's kids) celebration party. I'd probably share more about that on another day.

It's Friday over here and we learned from the forecast that there's another storm headed this way. We are hoping it won't come though...

Photos are my own. 25082023/10:50ph

The first and second pictures reminded me of my childhood also. I think we all played with such kinds of toys in the time of childhood. I want to take pictures sitting on those vehicles because in my childhood times, it was not possible to take pictures.

I have a bad back and it easily hurts when I stand or walk for a prolonged period, so I often have to remind him it's time to go.

I can understand it because my mother is also facing the same problem and she can't stay stand or walking for a long time.

Childhood years are fun hehe and yeah, unlike these years when we snap pictures of almost anything, that was not possible many years ago.

Having a bad back is no fun. I become moody when my back hurts, lol!

I can't feel the pain but I just can imagine it when I see my mom suffering for it. Obviously, It's not a matter of joke.

I love that stylish dishware, it's so fancy.

I am also shy about taking pictures when people are around😃😃, that's one thing w have in common.

I pray the storm doesn't come, please stay safe always.

Love and light.🥰

Haha, yes. Sometimes I can just take photos but mostly not.

Thank you, Amie. Hopefully, it will just rain and not the storm. Happy weekend to you 🥰

I have red colored car but it's toy. Even till today I have that in the bucket. And I wish that one day I will change that childhood memory to reality.

That toy truck is a beast, any kid would love to have this. but I would like to have those heavy bikes instead of truck, as I am a heavy bike lover.

it's a beautiful store, you can see that they have everything, I would have liked to see a picture of the refrigerator, they are beautiful. it's good to spend time in the stores, distracting the mind.
