Pixels of the Past: The Story of Unforgettable Games that Shaped My Childhood

There are plenty of stories to tell about the games I've played in my childhood and if I starts to write it all it will end up as a book but this is going to be an storytelling about the way I got into games when I was and the games I've played and the one's never got the chance to play and how I see those games now after growing up.

Who would've thought one-day we'll just wake up and won't have any wish to play kind of video games anymore.

The Way I Got into Gaming in my Childhood

I didn't had PC until I was 13, when I turned 12 had this one friend in neighborhood I used to play cricket with and he had his own computer.

So, he invited me plenty of times to play games with him and the first game I played in my life was GTA vice city but well in childhood days used to have limited time to play.

My mom bought me my own computer when I passed exams with good grades. The next day I called that friend over my home and did all the gaming setup on my PC.

The CDs Gaming Era

I'm the last Gen of kids who knows what floppy disk is and back then luckily we also had "CD's and DVD's" options too.

For each game, I was saving money from pocket money just to get the game CD.

It's hard to believe a video game used to cost me just 30rs back then and now it's literally over 150 rupee's to goes above thousands RS.

I remember the hustle behind installing the video game. Whenever I bought the CD of video game always prayed like it should work.

Most of the times the CD we buy did have corrupted setup's and installation went unsuccessful or failed.

So, I used to return CDs and get exchange with the other one. Now we don't even need any kind of CDs since we can simply download quickly from internet and can we purchase games.

The thing is how good those old days were when it was taking every bit of efforts and testing Patience just to play that game and than finishing the game.

The Games I've started and finished

Once I started playing a game, there was no way going back before beating the final boss or completing all the missions.

In my gaming list, I've conquered in GTA vice city first of all, GTA San Andreas.

Project IGI was actually one of the toughest back then and I completed all those 14 stages after giving it billion attempts.

One game I've not heard most people talked or appreciate was "Freedom Fighter" it was like IGI, a shooting game but the storyline was actually so Good and each stage was too much fun.

We had like the best need for speed game back then the first editions we're so amazing and I never got bored playing that one.

The Games I had in my wish-list but never got the chance to play

I didn't had a good enough PC to run those heavy games I once wanted to play because I found those interesting when a friend or cousin was playing it.

Like GTA V was one of the game I wanted to try out and explore but never got the chance. Now GTA VI is coming out soon but I've not played previous versions other than vice city and San Andreas but seriously the memories I've from previous one's is good enough in this life.

Playing the Spiderman was one of my wish but nah, that's something never happened, same goes with God of war and all of such quality games.

Now I no longer have interest in gaming

From this whole story you can tell how much I was interested in gaming till my teenage years and just about couple of years I was playing online games but there was this random morning when I woke up and realized things are changed and I no longer want to play games.

It's same like the childhood days when on some weekend I asked one of my friend we'll play cricket tomorrow evening but that tomorrow never came again.

Some of Good-byes are always too sudden, we don't know when it all changes.. it just takes one moment for everything to change and this story is about the change I've seen throughout the years not just in the gaming but my life as well.

I hope this bring you back some nostalgia, good ol days flashback and would love to know what's your thoughts about it in the comment.

Fin.

I love to play the Pain killer game on my PC. GTA was a big success of that time. Now days the kids play similar games on Phones. Technology has changed a lot.
