Children's Marble Racing Competition

Of course, each region has different traditions as a legacy of its predecessors. This tradition is often repeated on certain celebration days, involving the wider community from various circles and ages. This time I will discuss these various social phenomena through the following photos that I captured during the local area's anniversary celebration, which was filled with a series of traditional games.

The term "Children's Marble Racing Competition" describes this kind of age-old activity. Uniquely, this game is only played at important celebrations (regional anniversaries). This indicates that this event is held once a year.

The way to play is quite simple: the participants, the majority of whom are children, are required to bite spoons filled with marbles that have previously been provided by the committee. They must not touch the spoon and must succeed in bringing the marble to the finish line. The winner is the one who crosses the finish line first. In addition, players are deemed losers if they drop marbles before crossing the finish line. So, till the very end, this game demands complete focus.

Before the kids competed against one another, the committee encouraged them with cheers to liven up the competition. "What a great strategy," I muttered while aiming at the children's tension while competing.

Finally, they raced each other to the finish line, enlivened by the cheers of each of their supporting spectators. At a glance, it appears that this kind of game has advantages of its own, such as helping kids develop their motor skills via concentrated attention and a sense of sportsmanship toward one another, as well an annual gathering place for all levels of society.
