Impacts of Hive on Nigerian undergraduates

Africa is predominantly known as a third-world continent due to the greater number of undeveloped countries within its region. Nigeria, popularly known as the 'giant of Africa,' is seen as a personification of this characterization because the struggle for survival is outrageous, thereby limiting the youths from living up to their standards. This is why most Nigerian youths do not play with any available opportunity that gets them freed from poverty, since the government has made it clear that they shouldn’t depend on them for survival; how? No provision of resources, job opportunities, et al. Therefore, as a true Nigerian youth when I got to know about #hive I intentionally I coin out time to engage it.

My Story:

When I began my journey in tertiary institution, life was not friendly to me because of how financially demanding the tertiary institution was; in as much as my parents do their best in catering for me, there are moments I need to have some money of my own to solve some petty needs like printing handouts, paying dues, buying stationeries, etc but no avenue of earning. The available opportunities I saw demanded my full-time involvement, while the part-time jobs demanded my presence in the morning which was lecture hours.

So, one fateful day, a friend of mine introduced me to #web3, specifically the #hive platform; I got enlightened on how to earn passively and actively in my own space without being controlled by any organization - I got interested and signed up. I used my first payout to clear an outstanding debt that was many months long; before now, I didn’t believe in the #web3 platform (generally online money making platform) - but #hive changed my notion about making online money and I became in love.

The impact of Hive in Nigeria undergraduate:

The scholarship scheme organized for undergraduates helps to pay the school fees of students within a period of time, but #hive is an avenue for students to earn without limit. The scholarship scheme has a fixed amount, but #hive is earned based on your engagement - meaning there's no limit to payment.

As a hiver, I'm enjoying my undergraduate days because of the financial relief hive has given to me. I can boldly say #hive is one of the contributors to my academic journey.
