Marking our journey's end: a signboard of Niagara Falls State Park.

Ever thought of walking between two countries on one of Earth's most scenic bridges? That's exactly what we did on our recent trip to Niagara Falls.

Why Walk When You Can Ride?

It started out as just another trip to the magnificent Niagara Falls on the Canadian side. But then we thought, why not cross over to the USA on foot? After all, the Rainbow Bridge promises not just a pathway between two countries, but also some of the most breathtaking views on the planet.

Preparing for the Journey

The day greeted us with the perfect summer weather, beckoning us to take the plunge. As holders of Japanese passports, the electronic visa we applied for online made our journey hassle-free. However, there was an $18 charge for the three of us, perhaps a toll or processing fee? Not sure here though [Note: The $18 is likely the toll for the bridge, charged for maintenance and operations.]

Experiencing the Bridge Walk

Although we had heard about the crowd difference between the two sides, experiencing it was something else. The Canadian side was bustling with energy, while the U.S. side felt more serene. The walk itself? Smooth, yet exhilarating. Midway, we were flanked by two contrasting yet equally mesmerizing views of the falls from both countries.

Safety and Recommendations

Contrary to expectations, security was relatively relaxed. The bridge is well-prepared for pedestrians like us, with a dedicated walkway ensuring we didn't mingle with the vehicular traffic.

Would I recommend this walk? Absolutely. Not only for the unparalleled views but also for those unmatched selfie opportunities. Just one tip: keep your power banks handy, because the beauty will have you snapping away till your phone screams for a charge! hahaha

In Conclusion

Unfortunately, we cannot capture any pictures inside immigration so I cannot show any captured moments of that here

15 minutes of walking (and many minutes of awestruck gazing) later, we were on the other side, feeling a sense of accomplishment. Would we do it again? In a heartbeat. It was a journey we undertook with just the three of us, sharing moments of wonder, laughter, and pure joy.

For those considering this experience, all I have to say is: go for it. Feel the wind in your hair, hear the roar of the falls, and experience the world from the magnificent Rainbow Bridge.
