A Special December Reunion
Embracing the Unconventional: Celebrating December in My Own Way
December, a month synonymous with festivities and celebrations, holds a unique place in my life. Unlike many families in the Philippines, we don't celebrate Christmas, as we don't believe in the traditional date of Jesus Christ's birth. Instead, our December is marked by a different kind of celebration, one that is deeply personal and joyous.
A Birthday and New Year's Eve Combined
The highlight of our December is the 31st, a day that is doubly special for me as it marks both my birthday and Philippine's New Year Eve. This day is an annual ritual of joy and togetherness for my family. We gather in our home in Taytay, Rizal, a place that offers a stunning overview, perfect for witnessing the spectacular fireworks that light up the night sky as we usher in the New Year.
This Year's Reunion: A Journey from Abu Dhabi to the Philippines
This year, our plans are a bit more ambitious. We're planning to take a flight from Abu Dhabi back to the Philippines for a family reunion. It's an occasion we're all eagerly anticipating, a chance to reconnect with loved ones and create new memories. The preparation for this trip is in full swing, as we coordinate our leaves from work and make all the necessary arrangements.
The Emotional Essence of December
For us, December is more than just a month; it's a period filled with significant occasions. It's a time when we come together, celebrate life, and appreciate the bonds we share. The emotional significance of these traditions is profound, as they reinforce our family ties and offer a sense of continuity and belonging.
Reflecting on the Impact of Our Traditions
These traditions have greatly impacted our family's bond. They serve as a reminder of our values, our heritage, and the importance of family. Over the years, our December traditions have evolved, adapting to our changing lives yet remaining a constant source of joy and togetherness.
A Message of Family and Tradition
I want to convey the importance of family get together. They are the threads that weave our lives into a beautiful tapestry of memories and experiences. Whether you celebrate in a conventional manner or have your unique traditions, embrace them. They are what make your family's story unique and special.
In a world that's constantly changing, these traditions are our anchor, reminding us of who we are and where we come from. So, as we approach the end of the year, let's cherish these moments and carry them forward into the future.

Traditions are kept for the sole purpose of reminding each other about culture, values and morals.
Get together with family members and relative is always beautiful as it tends to renew the bound amongst every member of the family.
