Epithaphs, cenotaphs and other flying saucers

I do not know much about epitaphs, this being today's theme for #Aprilinleo, but I do have a good story. In the Romanian Village of Sapinta, there is a Merry Cemetery, as an indirect tradition from the Daco-Thracian tribes who lived there 2-3000 years ago. They used to be sad when somebody was born, coming into life, and happy when somebody would die, going back to Heaven to live among the gods.

The Merry Cemetery from Sapinta is an open-air museum, a place where tourists can visit and have fun reading the epitaphs and looking at the blue-coloured headstones decorated with pictures and short funny poems describing the deceased life.

Romanian:

Sub această cruce grea
Zace biata soacră-mea
Trei zile de mai trăia
Zăceam eu și cetea ea.
Voi care treceți pă aici
Incercați să n-o treziți
Că acasă dacă vine
Iarăi cu gura pă mine
Da așa eu m-oi purta
Că-napoi n-a înturna
Stai aicea dragă soacră-mea

English:

Under this heavy cross
Lies my poor mother-in-law
Three more days should she have lived
I would lie, and she would read (this cross).
You, who here are passing by
Not to wake her up please try
Cause' if she comes back home
She'll scold me more.
But I will surely behave
So she'll not return from grave.
Stay here, my dear mother-in-law!
