At what age did you start listening to gospel music

I start listening to gospel music at a very young age, but I can said that, in those times, I didn't used to like those songs comparing to how I like it now, in those days, gospel music was tiring to me, I didn't like to play it much, but i could remember, how my parents used to dance so well to each of those songs.

Me and my siblings, the kinds of songs we were after was reggae and blues, and when my parents were not around, we will slide in our favorite songs into the radio and we will slam's it until our parents comes back, we know they wouldn't like us playing those raggae and blues, so we will keep a watch at the main road, while dancing to the reggae songs, so that immediately they are back we will switch off the radio.

Right now the case are not the same with me, I do not still want to hear reggae and blues songs all day without playing gospel music, because gospel songs are even more interesting than the blues and reggae, although that is not the case.

I realized that all categories of songs are awesome, it just depends if we like the song, there are music I can not skip when I hear it play on the radio, I did this not because I consider the song's as the most interesting song, but it's a good song for me.

I have about ten names of gospel artist that makes gospel songs that I like and in each of their songs, one may think the songs are not gospel because their style of gospel songs are so awesome and not in resemblance like that of other artists.

I have a friend, a girlfriend, she doesn't pay attention to the lyrics in a song, she gets carried away with rhythms of a song, there was a time, she came to visit me and I play a gospel song, she didn't knew that the song was gospel because of the way the artist sing it.

So she tells me that she really likes the song, if not that she doesn't save circular music in her phone, she should have asked me to sent the songs to her.

She didn't know that the song was gospel because of the way the singer sing it, and I told her that, it is a gospel song but it because of the way the artist sing the song, that is why it seems like a circular song.

I transfer the song to her through Xender and she always play that song whenever she comes to my place, and even as that, she said, the song make her to remember me whenever she plays it in her work place.

A good music is not known through a category of song, but it known through our understanding of our immediate environment.

I have met someone who do not play any other song than a traditional songs, and this traditional songs are understood by him, he dance to it when once he play them, and anyone who sees him always going out with Mp3, might think he is a guy who played songs from all categories, but if the person's get close to him, he will realize he's just playing traditional songs alone.

playing a traditional songs is not a bad thing though, I didn't say it was, it just what he sees about his immediate environment that he was doing, and as times goes on, the guy will see himself changing from that music category to another, it natural and no man can escape it, our environment can change our style of music.

I didn't immediately start liking gospel songs when I was younger. All I listened to were rhythm and blues by Celine Dion, Brandy and others.

As time passed I began to get a revelation of what the lyrics meant and from then on, I have loved listening to gospel songs especially foreign ones
