My Little Garden update .... Time to Sow Seeds

Growing your own food is an unparalleled experience. There are two significant advantages to this: not only do you have a ready supply of fresh produce, but it also keeps us occupied, which is beneficial for our physical and mental well-being. The biggest obstacle to gardening is finding a suitable space, be it big or small. Given the difficulties of urban living, however, using pots on the balcony is a commendable alternative.

I shifted one and half year back to location near to my native place and this really help ne to take care of my mother and grandmother and also increased the level of my social life. Other then those benefit I also got a small garden in my living space. I am not so good in gardening but I always has a wish to have a garden where I can grow at least the basic vegetable so its is more like a kitchen garden thing.

The summer season is about to end and now the days are getting shorter and cooler. The winter is knocking our doors. In last week I have prepared the soil and prepare it for the winter season plants. The winter season comes with good number of vegetable but I can can grow all because of the space limitations. We are planning for some new experiments in this season for proper utilization of available space.

Last week the soil was prepared, the soil plays the pivotal role. A healthy soil can only yield a healthy plantation. The more the soil is healthy means good growth of the plants. I have observed that the soil has the Termite which is not good for the plants we are planning to grow. They eat the roots of the plants and the plats goes not get good base in soil. I am not favorable of using pesticides but here I do not left with any other choice other then using pesticides to control the Termite. I ensure to left the soil open for good time after mixing the chemical. Hope they will not come back in near future other wise I have to check other alternatives also.

After loosen the soil the next part was to break apart large clods of dirt. We make ensure the soil should be the fine, granular consistency, this helps to grow the plant roots.

Use of Manure is very beneficial to improve the quality of the soil. I find out a person who arrange the same for me. It cost me around $10. The manure I got is mixture of cow and Buffalo dunk which is good in my opinion and I have used in past and gives good results. Hope it will also provide the similar results this time.

The Manure has been mixed in the soil its not time to divide the space for different seeds.

I sow seeds of four different plants, first is Fenugreek of two variety, one has big leavers and other has small leaves. We usually mix the leaves in the wheat floor after making the past of them and preparing the Indian bread or prepare the Fenugreek leave curry along with potatoes.

Second is Spinach a good source of Iron. I have dedicated on portion for same. As per last year experience I am expecting good cultivation of same in coming days.

Third is the White Radish, Redish are good source of Energy, Carbohydrates, Sugars and fiber. They're best eaten raw, and can be easily sliced into salads. The leaves may also used same as the Fenugreek leaves in wheat floor and preparing the Indian bread.

Fourths is Turnips. I love to have them as salad and or as the Turnips curry.

I checked the next day the condition of the sow seeds and glad to found that the sprout coming out of soil.

Other then the vegetation we also have some flower plants. I forget to take the picture of American Lilli which is in pink color. It also has red color but we have pink also. Other then this the Rose are also has good growth.

This is all about my little kitchen garden and will shar the weekly progress also. I start writing on Sunday but because of the busy schedule completed it on Monday. Will share the progress on coming Sunday.
