An Emotional Journey: My Experiences with Dogs, from Fear to Fondness

Dogs are true friend of humans. We come across many stories of dogs in which the dogs shown their loyalty and protection towards their owners. I have had both bad and good experiences with pets, specifically dogs. When I was a kid, a stray dog bit me when I was approximately six or seven years old. My mother, from that moment on, hated dogs. We normally fed those stray dogs by offering them bread every day before going to bed, but after that incident, my mother was so angry with those dogs that she did not allow any of us to feed them for almost two years. I was not the only victim of a dog bite; my twin brother also had a similar experience, which was another reason why my mother did not show any mercy to those dogs.

In our family, no one was in favor of having a pet dog. But after many years, when we were in 6th or 7th grade, my twin brother and I found a puppy. It was not a purebred, but any puppy looks too adorable and lovely. We could not control ourselves and took that pup home. We knew that our mother would be angry, but we took the chance. Obviously, our mother was mad, but she agreed and surrendered to our demand. Our mother put one condition: she would not take care of the dog, and both of us had to do all the required activities to raise the little puppy. It was not easy, as we were just kids. We took on the challenge, but it was not easy. Soon, we realized that it was not a good idea to bring any street puppy home. As the puppy grew, we started to teach him some good habits, but it was very tough. We tried to teach him how to behave, when to eat, and what to eat, but all our efforts were just a waste of time. We used to take him out of the house so that he would feel good and do some important things, but he was not ready to understand. Then, a day came when my mother asked someone to take the dog, and he took him from our lives. It was a mix of emotions for us. We were sad as we had become attached to him, but it was not the right place for him, and he was not meant to be in our home. Long story short, we forgot about him in a couple of days.

My wife's family is very fond of pets. They have more than one pet in their family. One incident my wife always talks about with me, and I want to share the same with all of you. Once they had a Pomeranian dog, and they were all very attached to him. He was very obedient and very clever. But one day, he went missing, and they all tried to find him everywhere but unfortunately were not able to locate him anywhere. That was a sad moment for them. No one ate that night, and all were just thinking of him. He was missing for two nights, and on the third day, he came back on his own. They concluded that someone tried to take him, but the dog was missing them all. By some means, he was able to escape from the kidnapper and come back home. All were excited and happy.
