Its an initiative by the Indian Government towards paperless governance by making the issuance and verification process of documents online. Its an cloud based application that allows you to store your important documents like all like driving licence, home and land registry paper, school and university marksheets, Aadhaar, PAN Card, insurance papers, NPS statement and many other documents etc., in the DigiLocker App. The best part is its FREE to use and is developed by the Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) and is one of the government’s flagship towards Digital India initiatives. • Round-The-Clock Availability - easy access anytime, anywhere the documents are made available. Just login to the App and you have all your critical documents in one place.

• Documents Authenticity is 100% legit as it is issued directly by the registered issuers such as Registrar Office, Income Tax department, universities, RTO offices etc.

• Environmentally Friendly - its an initiative by the Indian Government towards paperless governance and making the documents available on the cloud. This eradicates the need of having hard copies of the documents which in turn results into an environmentally friendly application.

• Secure Storage - this is of utmost importance where documents needs to be secured. This is maintained via the signup process where your registered mobile number and OTP [One Time Password] comes into picture without it one cannot register to the DigiLocker App.
