My conclusions of my full week exploration of the Hive Network!

In my full week of Hive network challenge. The most important thing I've learned (thus far), is that the Vote Power meter we see on hivestats.io has nothing to do with the layer 2 Vote Power meters such as SoMee, LEO and PoB ect. In fact, the way i currently know you can accurately check your vote power meter on SoMee for example, is by somee.blog through Hive Keychain. The next is by using the platform which does not give you an accurate description of the power you have left yet. Same exact thing for the other layer 2 plarforms. Most of them have their own main platforms, yet also have their version of that platform on Hive Keychain which i will show on images attached to this post.

Conclusion from my week experiment on this, is that every tribe that is building on the Hive Network has a different vote power meter, and Hive has its own Vote Power Meter. While your Hive Voting power is affected on absolutely everything you upvote. Your voting power for SME is not, just as long as the posts you are upvoting do not have the someeofficial tribe tag. Same goes for every layer 2 Token. Your SME upvote simply does not exist if you did not add the tribe's tag. If you want to curate rewards for every single tribe's tokens you own. You should add every tribe's tag before you post, and you will need to post outside of SoMee's main platform, as SoMee does not support the tag options yet. Do not edit and do it after you have already posted because it usually doesn't work. You need to get it right the first time. Trust me, i know from experience.

Thats the result of a lot of research, trial & error on your part Rafael.

At first, I also got confused. Not only is the voting power bar different, but I also observe that the estimated voting value in one tribe is inaccurate maybe due to a technical problem. Moreover, as I did trial and error among several tribes, I also wonder why some tribes despite having impressive white papers, Hivers seem not to like them. Perhaps, there is a history behind that I am not aware of. Anyhow, the two benchmarks I look into are the token price and the potential return. So after a few months of testing, I made a decision to focus my curation on tribes that give me the highest return. Nevertheless, I still maintain an open mind to other possibilities.

In my trial and error, SME and CENT are the two tokens that give me the highest return. In the case of CENT, with 33,000 CENT power, my vote value is now more or less 15 CENT. The case of SME is different; it is not because of my SME Power, but because of the support of SoMee whales like you. That's the reason why I focus my curation on these two tribes. Incentive works.

I just checked the vote value of your vote on my first comment with the tags that you used in your post. I excluded CTP and ARCHON for their value is almost non-existent. As for the remaining five tribes, here are what I see after converting the price of the tokens to SWAP.HIVE with the current buy orders on LeoDex:

  • 0.363 LEO = 0.029 HIVE
  • 0.529 CENT = 0.0017 HIVE
  • 27.94 MEME = 0.0036 HIVE
  • 1.29 POB = 0.050 HIVE
  • 9,742 SME = 2.63 HIVE

Compared to your SME vote value, the discrepancy with the other four tokens is huge. The numbers tell us that as far as voting influence, your strength lies with SME and then next with POB and LEO.

The numbers inform me where should I focus my curation.

Thanks for your upvote, my friend.

Oh, you staked 350,000 now. Your vote value shoots up from 2.2 to 82 plus.

Yes lol. I am shooting to stake 1 million before i move to my next goal! Thought it would be a nice experiment for me to learn how to source and post Memes. I still have a long way though! Nothing better than buying the token that relates to that i think.

In fact, it was my first time to see their front end. I never thought that https://www.hiveme.me/ exists. Thanks for introducing a new front end to me.

It looks like it is having difficulty with the massive content on its second day of zealy campaign. I already published several threads, but when I checked my profile, what was shown was my thread 11 hours ago.

I used the website the other day and couldn't find my way effectively. It seems like they made lots of unnecessary changes. Maybe i just need to play around with it some before i get it.

Yeah, the site is having repeated technical issues this day. Nevertheless, I managed to complete 70 #threads despite the situation. That's a new number for me. The biggest was 63 two days ago.

Amazing discovery, you finally got your answers to the way the interface voting power works. Also I noticed you've not been really active on SoMee like you used to. I guess you are having a great time exploring then hive network.

Well, my SME voting power is a disaster at under 60%. I really need to give myself sometime to heal my SME voting power before i start voting at 100% again on SoMee. It is hard to keep up with the amount of friends you have when every 100% vote reduces your voting power by 2%

Interesting observations. I also noticed that voice strengths are different on somee.blog and hive.blog
I didn't attach much importance to it. But a few likes on my posts made me think about being active on Somee.
