When the light goes out

This thought keeps riding in my head, when the light is gone, who will be there for us? In a world filled with people who constantly question your trust, your loyalty, and your friendship for them, who will be there for us?

The flying news about friends who have friends but yet still can not trust their friends to want to leave their already opened drinks on the table where their friends are to visit the loo or pick a call keeps me wondering, who will be there for us when the light is gone?

If we constantly push people because of our attitude, because of our trust issues because we can not trust humans even the ones we claim to be "friends or best friends" who then, will be with us when the light goes dark on us, who will be there for us when our limps are weak and our hands are fragile to hold on to things?

When the light is gone, who will be our light, when our eyes are worn out and can not see, who will be our eyes when the darkness invades our once shining kingdom, who will be our light in shining armor?

Regardless of the world's definition of friends, there are still thousands and one genuine friends out there, so surround yourself with people who will be there for you when the light goes out and darkness takes over.

Surround yourself with people who will be the shoulder you will and can lean on when you need a shoulder to lean on, surround yourself with those who will not talk down on you when you are at your lowest and in desperate need of help, surround yourself with people who can and are willing to pick you up when you can not see the light anymore.
