Trivia Night Delight!

For most of my life I have been an absolute sponge for all the bits of information. From the random bit of geographical knowledge right down to the mundane date in history where someone developed a certain variety of fig. Yes, truly.

I love learning and over the years whenever an opportunity for a bit of trivia gaming popped up, all those bits of info bouncing around in my brain have come in handy.

Last night was no exception.

Just about a year ago, while the hubs and I were dining at the restaurant where both of our children worked, we noticed a sign advertising Trivia Night in one of our local bars. We both exhaled in enthusiasm as we read the posting and vowed to eventually check it out.

Last night we finally did. And we met @jacobtothe and a couple of our other friends there as well!

Now, as I had never attended such a thing, I really didn't know what to expect. One thing that was welcome was the fabulous grub that we received, I really enjoyed my mango hard cider and homemade chicken, green pepper, onion, and mushroom pizza. The hubs kept commenting on how nice the burger he ordered was, and our daughter really dug the chicken sandwich that materialized in front her. Even JT found something acceptable, which if you have read about his trials with the allergen life, is saying something!

A very nice, albeit a bit grizzled, man gave us numbered sheets, and since there were six of us, our group divided into two separate teams. The hubs, @jacobtothe, and I were on a team together, which we christened The Braindead Geezers. (We are now team Quiz Knows, a name change of which why will become apparent later on in the post).

The night began with around eight teams in the trivia running, and before you could say knowledge schmoledge we had wrapped up a fantastically fun two hours.

Well, I thought it was beyond fun, and I learned a bunch of cool things too.

For instance, JT and I crushed the general trivia section of the night, not missing a single question. Our Elon Musk knowledge is a bit a lacking though, we didn't do so hot on that ten question jaunt.

We fared well on the food section, I did a gut guessing game Hail Mary in the old tv show actors to part played section, and then I absolutely crushed it in the name that tune, artist, and you get a bonus point if you guess the year the song debuted section of the night. I still want to know how JT knew the Justin Bieber song so well though....

And then, the biggest surprise happened, WE TIED FOR FIRST!

And we got a gift certificate for $10 off of food at next week's trivia night which was pretty dang cool. You can betcha that I will be back in trivia land next week!

Oh, and another bright spot was being recognized by a library patron as librarians (former in my case). While the nice lady was talking to us I had a good internal chuckle when she said she thought the recognized us from somewhere, as it made me wonder if people inwardly scream in terror when librarians show up to trivia night.

All I know is that it was a pretty dang good time all around and I am so going again!

In the trivia spirit of things, who knows what type of flower this is?

And as most of the time, all of the images in this post were taken on the author's full of random knowledge thanks to the author's overactive imagination and note taking proclivity, iPhone.

Remember Rickrolling? Well, there was a brief but painful era where some corners of the internet may have used clips of Bieber's "Baby" similarly. Either that, or it was just a horrible thing that saturated the internet for a couple weeks like "Friday." I'm a braindead geezer, so I don't remember too clearly which it was.

I see what you did there...

Also, you missed a golden opportunity to Rickroll me JT in this reply, but now I have to hate you because it's Friday and Friday is now stuck in MY HEAD! AHHHHHHHHH!

I figured that reference was insidious enough. Besides, is it really rickrolling when the link is relevant?

IT'S FRIDAY FRIDAY GONNA GET DOWN ON FRIDAY
EVERYBODY'S LOOKIN' FORWARD TO THE WEEKEND WEEKEND
FRIDAY FRIDAY GETTIN' DOWN ON FRIDAY
EVERYBODY'S LOOKIN' FORWARD TO THE WEEKEND

(yes, I googled the chorus lyrics just so I could shout them at you in all caps here)

Assuming most librarians are also voracious readers, I'm sure your presence could potentially make some folks squirm a bit. I'm so glad you all had such a good time!

I threw that pic in at the end because I had a feeling you would be the one who would answer the query😊

And I can't believe it has taken me this long to do a public trivia outing, I did tons of trivia competitions in school lol!
