Festival Sucrentino de Danza 2023 (ESP-ENG)

Un placer volver a esta comunidad de sucrence. Quería contarles que ayer fui a una de las presentaciones del XXXVII Festival Sucrentino de Danza. Este es un festival que tiene ya 37 años, creado para incentivar y premiar la danza, el baile y las expresiones artísticas en el estado Sucre.

Mi principal objetivo era disfrutar el espectáculo de "Venezuela Única", un show montado por Cumanarte en colaboración con la academia de flamenco Gitanas, la escuela de Danza Cruz Alejandro Quinal de Cumanacoa, el ensamble de Cumanarte y Alberth Rivero. Buscaron resaltar todas las bellezas de nuestro país a través del baile, la expresión artitstica y la música. Flamenco, danza contemporánea y bailes tradicionales se mezclan para evocar la mezcla y diversidad cultural y de paisajes que representa nuestra Venezuela. Una belleza que te eriza la piel al oírlo y verlo. La voz de la locura Adriana González de Amarillo n°5 y la del locutor Carlos Carrillo guiandote por toda la travesía de estos bailes es un deleite, sumado a todo el cuerpo de baile que lleva más de un año haciendo este montaje.

Lo que presenciaron las escalinatas de Santa Inés fue un verdadero show, una puesta en escena magnífica que te deja con ganas de más, dónde te sientes más venezolano que nunca.

Además, se presentó otra compañía de baile llamada Sur Danza Contemporánea, que venía del estado Portuguesa. Su primera presentación se llamó Hecatombe y solo puedo decir que era imposible dejar de verlos. La danza contemporánea siempre me ha llamado la atención y la forma en la que ellos interpretaron lo que para mí es una oda al sufrimiento y al final el renacimiento y la sanación fue impresionante y a la vez indescriptible para mí. Porque en cada movimiento de baile podías sentir los golpes, el dolor, y al final como sanaron.

Es la primera vez que asisto al Festival Sucrentino y si algo puedo decir es que es un evento necesario para la cultura de nuestro estado. Es la forma de mostrar parte de lo que ocurre a nivel cultural y de reconocer a esos grandes maestros que lo dan todo formando artistas a nivel estatal. Mi recomendación: si pueden asistir hoy a la competencia y premiación, haganlo. Es arte en todos los sentidos.

A pleasure to come back to this sucrence community. I wanted to tell you that yesterday I went to one of the presentations of the XXXVII Festival Sucrentino de Danza. This is a festival that is already 37 years old, created to encourage and reward dance, dance and artistic expressions in the state of Sucre.

My main objective was to enjoy the "Venezuela Única" show, a show put on by Cumanarte in collaboration with the Gitanas Flamenco Academy, the Cruz Alejandro Quinal Dance School of Cumanacoa, the Cumanarte Ensemble and Alberth Rivero. They sought to highlight all the beauties of our country through dance, artistic expression and music. Flamenco, contemporary dance and traditional dances are mixed to evoke the mix and diversity of culture and landscapes that represent our Venezuela. A beauty that makes your skin crawl when you hear and see it. The voice of the crazy Adriana Gonzalez of Amarillo n°5 and the voice of the announcer Carlos Carrillo guiding you through the journey of these dances is a delight, added to the entire dance team that has been doing this show for more than a year.

What the steps of Santa Inés witnessed was a real show, a magnificent staging that leaves you wanting more, where you feel more Venezuelan than ever.

In addition, another dance company called Sur Danza Contemporánea, which came from the state of Portuguesa, performed. Their first presentation was called Hecatombe and I can only say that it was impossible to stop watching them. Contemporary dance has always caught my attention and the way they interpreted what for me is an ode to suffering and in the end rebirth and healing was impressive and at the same time indescribable for me. Because in every dance movement you could feel the blows, the pain, and in the end how they healed.

It is the first time I attend the Festival Sucrentino and if I can say anything is that it is a necessary event for the culture of our state. It is a way to show part of what is happening at the cultural level and to recognize those great masters who give their all forming artists at the state level. My recommendation: if you can attend the competition and awards ceremony today, do it. It is art in every sense.
