De la novela al lettering (ESP-ENG)

Un placer volver a esta preciosa comunidad de Lifestyle, esta vez para contarles acerca del taller que realice: De la novela al Lettering, donde celebramos la semana mundial de la novela.

No conocía que existía una semana mundial de la novela hasta hace poco. Dos chicas: Karlevys y Camila, me contactaron para hacer una unión y celebrar la semana de la novela usando el estilo del lettering. El sitio escogido fue Adi´s floristería, una floristería con una ambientación mágica y llena de detalles. Detalles que supieron aprovechar y destacar añadiendo libros y otros detalles como un mantel de hojas de libros, y que hacían referencia a novelas como Alicia en el País de las Maravillas.

También compartimos con personajes de novela como el detective León de Cuatro crimenes, cuatro poderes, Elizabeth Bennet de Orgullo y Prejuicio y Waris Dirie.

Para aportar a la decoración, aplique lettering en botellas de vino vacías usando frases de distintas novelas. En el taller aplicamos distintos estilos como un serif tipo máquina de escribir y un cursivo extendido muy elegante, evocando la escritura como en las cartas en Orgullo y Prejuicio.

De refrigerio comimos la espectacular torta de chocolate que aparece en el libro de Matilda, galletas que decían: “eat me” y te como en Alicia en el país de las maravillas. Una experiencia muy deliciosa. Para el proyecto final diseñe un book tracker al que los participantes debían diseñar la portada con la frase: “Somos lo que leemos”.

Fue un taller mágico, lleno de detalles y muy divertido. Es una actividad que sin duda volvería a repetir.

A pleasure to come back to this lovely Lifestyle community, this time to tell you about the workshop I did: From Novel to Lettering, where we celebrated the world novel week.

I didn't know there was a world novel week until recently. Two girls: Karlevys and Camila, contacted me to make a union and celebrate the novel week using the lettering style. The chosen place was Adi's florist, a flower shop with a magical atmosphere and full of details. Details that they knew how to take advantage of and highlight by adding books and other details such as a tablecloth made of book leaves, and that made reference to novels like Alice in Wonderland.

We also shared with novel characters such as Detective Leon from Four Crimes, Four Powers, Elizabeth Bennet from Pride and Prejudice and Waris Dirie.

To add to the decoration, I applied lettering on empty wine bottles using phrases from different novels. In the workshop we applied different styles such as a typewriter serif and a very elegant extended cursive, evoking the writing as in the letters in Pride and Prejudice.

For snacks we had the spectacular chocolate cake that appears in the book of Matilda, cookies that said: "eat me" and tea as in Alice in Wonderland. A very delicious experience. For the final project I designed a book tracker to which the participants had to design the cover with the phrase: "We are what we read".

It was a magical workshop, full of details and a lot of fun. It is an activity that I would definitely repeat.
